This beautifully illustrated book tells the story of such a great saint who lived in our times. She found God in the poorest of the poor; she cherished them and became a mother to all. She is a powerful witness that "whatever we do for one of the least of our brothers, we do for Jesus" cf.

Paperback Verified download. I have mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand it was a real blessing for me. I went through and somewhat I am still going through one of the darkest periods of my life. During some of the most darkest times, I have cried out to God in tears: I need to hear from you. Something to know you are there. A whisper, or just a touch. Just to know that you are there. Not a touch, not a word. And I got mad at God, to the point of asking: And that is why this book has been such a blessing.

It has given me understanding and answers to some of my questioning. It has helped me to grow in my faith in God again. A God that is loving. A God that is there for me, even when He seems to be ignoring me, and turning His back on me.

If you are in a place that is making you feel this way, then I recommend this book for you. It has been a blessing to me, and I pray that it will bless you too. He called its arguments "rather convincing", made "with consummate style. By the end of this elegantly written, brilliantly argued piece of polemic, it is not looking good for Mother Teresa.

In an interview, Donohue said, "Unlike Hitchens, who wrote a page book with no footnotes, no endnotes, no bibliography, no attribution at all, just 98 pages of unsupported opinion, I have a short book too. But I actually have more footnotes than I have pages in the book.

Kempton saw Hitchens's work as a contrast with his avowed atheism and more representative of a Christian whose protests "resonate with the severities of orthodoxy". Second, to act: to provide comfort and solace to these individuals as they face death.

Kempton chooses the former. Mother Teresa, for all of her faults, chooses the latter.

He compared her accepting "the hospitality of crooks, millionaires, and criminals" to Christ's relations with unsavory individuals, said that on his deathbed he would prefer the comfort Mother Teresa's order provides to the services of "a modern social worker". He defended secretly baptizing the dying as "a generous mark of sincere concern and affection". He concluded by comparing journalists' treatment of Mother Teresa to Christ being spat upon.

He thought this buttressed his case that Mother Teresa preached different gospels to the rich and the poor. How all this may affect her bid for sainthood remains unclear.

Some say it makes her even more impressive. While her spiritual loneliness became known during the canonization process, Kolodiejchuk said this is the first time the arc of her inner spiritual life is compiled in one place in her own words. Gezim Alpion, the author of Mother Teresa: Saint or Celebrity? Despite Mother Teresa's requests for privacy, publication of her private thoughts should be expected, said the Rev.
