The structure is similar to that of ISO Clause 4: Context of the organization This section requires the organization to determine its context in terms of the Quality Management System, including interested parties and their needs and expectations.
This is a new clause that establishes the context of the QMS and how the business strategy supports it. It gives an organization the opportunity to identify and understand the factors and parties in their environment that support the quality management system.

This requires the adoption of a process approach and although every organization will be different, documented information such as process diagrams or written procedures could be used to support this.
Product Safety is a new section in the standard. It has enhanced requirements designed to address current and emerging issues that the automotive industry is facing.
