This item cannot be downloaded from your browser" error. That wouldn't be a problem, if I could download the books via the nook for pc library which I can't. I have downloadd books from B&N in the past (mostly due to some good sale prices) .. It's worth noting that I have not updated the Nook app. I have downloaded the Nook app on my Surface Pro 4 and it has stopped downloading books. Any help would be appreciated. I've uninstalled.

It pretends to work. I can see all my books but I cannot open them up to.

Customization Options If you're not satisfied with the default look of your book, the Nook app offers options for changing it. Tap the center of the screen and a menu with a number of icons drops down to allow customization.
You can change the book's font size, the justification of the text, and the background color that you read on.
While you can create your own themes—combinations of background and text color, font face and size, you can also choose from supplied themes. If you prefer the one you've created, you can save it for later use.
Other options include adding bookmarks for sections you want to return to, making annotations, locking screen rotation and adjusting screen brightness. While you can control screen brightness as a basic setting of the iOS, this option is particularly nice since it controls screen brightness only when you're in the Nook app, not the overall screen brightness for all apps, which remains unchanged.
A Major Drawback All things considered, the Nook app is a solid choice for reading. Where it's not so helpful, though, is when it comes to downloading books. So that's another way to get your downloads. I remembered why I installed it - it allows you to download books from the Archive, without moving them back to active. Just a time saver.
Last edited by FizzyWater; at Thanks for the tip, FizzyWater. There wasn't a book I needed to download to read right away. I don't shop there all that often. There was a book I had downloadd that I didn't like and never plan to read again, so I decided to see if I could delete it. That's when I noticed the download option was missing. I thought it was just for the one book at first, but when I saw it was all of them I kind of freaked.
I bought a book yesterday and I did notice that the Download option had moved from the larger type first row of options "Read Instantly," etc. It had to have happened in the last 24 hours.
I assume he said, optimistically that it will still download to the Android app on my tablet, like the Asimov's and Analog magazines. And, fortunately, I have Dropbox on my tablet and on my netbook, so I should be able to move it that way. It's worth noting that I have not updated the Nook app. The most recent update wanted drastically increased permissions. The Nook for PC hasn't been updated since and isn't highlighted on their website.

The more difficult these idiots make reading, the fewer people will read.
The more of a hassle downloading and storing the books— well, only a nincompoop needs me to finish the sentence. That is just plain stupid. This severely p sses me off. What a bone head decision. They will be gone soon.
I can download anything else, including the e-reader without using a credit card. This is nuts.
So, my paid content remains your property. I totally rely only nook for reading Ebola tjis totally sucks. They are disgusting. I download the books and they limit how I can read them. How stupid! I spent a ton of money building up my nook collection. Additionally, I spent a lot of time reading on my computer. I bought the damn books I should be able to read them where, when and how I want.
Looks like i just bought my last nook book. Goodbye Barnes And Noble!!!! I expect the Nook platform to fail in the next few years, in part because of all of us jumping ship due to their short-sighted programs. You have to close the app and go online to barns and noble websites login there and download the book and then wait for the new book to come in. Quick Shipping on all Orders.
