All courses include a suite of in-depth training materials, including slides, activity sheets, textbooks and test sheets. The CIEH Introductory Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety provides an awareness of key health and safety issues, and the part that workers should play in keeping themselves and others free from harm at work. Who is this course for? Employees of all levels that need an awareness of health and safety New workers required to take health and safety induction training at the start of a new job As part of a work experience programme Course overview This course will give you a basic background and understanding of general health and safety practices and the control measures required to reduce risks in the work place.
Everyone in the workplace, no matter the industry, is required to take sufficient and appropriate health and safety training. This Level 2 training course is suitable for workers of all abilities and is intended as a 'foundation' level course, designed to maintain learners' health and safety knowledge.
If you have new employees who have never undertaken training in health and safety before and they work in a low risk environment, then the Level 1 Health and Safety in the Workplace course is recommended as an induction level. If you are a manager or supervisor then the Level 3 Health and Safety course would be more appropriate for your needs.
Under Section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work Act , employers have a duty to provide training for their employees to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, their health and safety at work. The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations identify situations where health and safety training is particularly important, including: Training for new recruits.
Training for when people change jobs or take on extra responsibilities. Training for young, more vulnerable employees.
Refresher training where existing skills need updating. The Health and Safety Training for Employment Regulations also state that learners doing work experience must be covered by health and safety law and so will also require training.

Most computers come with built-in speakers, but the narration will generally be written in text on the screen for you to read if you don't have sound turned on. The course is interactive and you may need to click on parts of the screen before you can advance.
This will be obvious as the narration and text will tell you what to do or the links will pulse and flash. The system will remember where you left off and take you back there, but you can go over any part of it as many times as you want to and take as long as you want.
You can write your own notes for the course and print them off or simply store them to access later any time you view your course. When you get to the end, you will be presented with an assessment to check your understanding.
Don't worry; in most cases you can take this assessment three times at no extra cost, and we have policies and procedures in place for adding further attempts.
Step 4: Your certificate You will be able to print your own certificate at the end of the course. Some courses also include the option of a high-quality posted certificate, for example our Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene courses.
