Ron did let on that he was oppressed by his supervising pastor when he was starting out in the ministry, and he fasted seeking relief.  I wonder if he was talking about Keith Walden when he was assigned to a circuit from Lubbock TX in 1982 or a couple of years later when he was assigned to Cincinnati under Bob League.

Ron prophesied with the Bible in one hand and the newspaper in the other, spending several minutes interpreting an article about the PIIGS of the European Union and the economic crisis with the Euro. Apparently this will result in the EU being trimmed to 10 nations to fit biblical prophesies. It’ll have to happen soon as Ron has set August of next year as a deadline for the 5th trumpet, when the European beast power occupies the United States.

Ron’s sermon was even more boring than last weeks. During the fall Ron raised expectations for last week’s sermon on the day of the annual excuse fast and end of the first half-a-revised-Time, and he’s broken yet another promise, made on November 28:

That’s why God has given so boldly that within the Church and we’re picking up and we’re going to come to some sermons close to the time of the fast that are going to have a big timeshift for us or a big change for some of the things taking place in the Church.

But I guess the ordination of women to elders could be regarded as a big change.  Nevertheless we’ll eventually have yet another timeshift.

But he shouldn’t have had to do that.  According to Rev 11:6, which speaks of Ron and the Missus:

These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

These most formidable prophets could have used their witness powers to just stop the blizzard — instead they’ll have to sleep in the $381,000 home on the golf course an extra couple of nights.

As redfox pointed out, False Prophet Rod Meredith’s LCG is taking the opposite approach to Facebook.  From their article:

By posting to your Facebook page a link to an article, telecast, booklet or other item from the Church websites, or by linking to Church material from your blog, your social network comes into greater contact with the Church. Please read the May-June LCN article entitled, Christian Communication in the Information Age, for helpful pointers on the effective use of this media.

In contrast, back on March 15 of last year Ronnie threatened to disfellowship anyone who represented on a social networking site their membership on PKG.  After that sermon, PKGers disappeared from the Internet in droves.

Somehow I prefer False Prophet Ronnie’s approach to Facebook.

Dennis’ post relates to the effects of prophecy on people, whether promoted by “The Spokesman Witness” or one of the other false prophets who resulted from Herbert Armstrong’s own promotions. I recommend clicking on over and reading what Dennis has to say.  And perhaps leave a comment there, although it will be a short while before it shows up as webmaster Gavin has had set up comment moderation to deal with a few whackos who’ve posted there.

But the thread continued on with intermittent activity.  A few days ago, one of the forumites there reposted the poem that Kirrily wrote which I posted on Don’t Drink the Flavor Aid.  “ptr775″ immediately responded

I know Kirrily personally, and therefore have a much greater perspective on that situation that you ever will, so so don’t even bother going there.

implying that there is some dark mysterious secret to her departure from PKG.  Makes you wonder what stories Deputy Wayne has been telling.

Kirrily took exception to that, reposting her analysis of “2008 God’s Final Witness“.  To which ptr775 started squawking Ron-speak, accusing her of being “anti-Christ” and other similar statements.  He ended with

These people are using you to spread their hate of the truth, {blather}

My, my.  I’ll bet that ptr775 has a string hanging out of his back, which if pulled and then released will retract slowly into his body as he recites Ron-isms.  If only I did have such powers to influence someone almost half-way around the world.  I could put these powers to lucrative use closer to home.

For the record, I did not tell Kirrily what to write.  It was on her own initiative that she wrote the poem and the other material and offered it to me to publish.   If anyone is being “used”, it is I. Not that I mind — keep up the good work, Kirrily   (as long as you feel the need).
