Never mind that ancient history, let's look at something more recent. What about an answer for all the false prophecy that he's put out?

I would also like to ask Ronald Weinland exactly why it took 153,000 people seven entire years to build Solomon's temple, which was only 90 feet long and 30 feet wide, out of 7.5 million pounds of gold AND 7.5 million pounds of silver, under the watch of 24,000 supervisors, and 6,000 officials were hired to manage it!! (1 Kings 6:2, 2 Chronicles 3:3, 1 Kings 5:15-16, 1 Kings 6:38, 1 Chronicles 22:14, and 1 Chronicles 23:4).

I'll bet Ronald Weinland will have no answer for either this "theology" or any other theology presented with him that is off his script...

We are all human, and have our bad days.

But here is where atheists differ. We won't tell you: who you can be intimate with, where you have to be on the weekend, what books you have to read, which books you can't read, what God you have to please, what food to eat, how many children you must have, how much birth control you must use, what holidays to celebrate, that there is a man in space that loves you, that women can be sold or that they must cover themselves, that you have to give money to a man in space, that you shouldn't think or question authority, that ancient books are better sources of information than microscopes, that a man in space revealed divine wisdom to us, what colour your hair should be, that homosexuals are a threat to decent society, that a man in space has chosen some people to be special, ...and...that touching yourself makes a man in space mad...

First of all, the word "apocalypse" means "something revealed to someone that is hidden from others", a special message or secret. So God supposedly revealing new truth for Ron to reveal is an "apocalypse". But the word has come to refer to John's message about 'the end of the world' and now people think the word Apocalypse means 'end of the world'. Either way, I don't believe in a Biblical end of the world, but it is possible that we humans don't survive our ceaseless wars, polluting, and corporate greed. But I doubt it is going to happen in my lifetime or the lifetime of my kids, so I am not really concerned with any end-of-the-world "Apocalypses".

These "supposed" scientists don't sound very scientific. Th term "everyone" is the least scientific word one can use in the scientific context. As a scientist, a person must have a question they want to answer, get information on it, come up with a theory abut it, test and OBSERVE it, then analyze the resulting data. Just how these "scientists" observed EVERYONE believing in a/the Apocalypse is a red flag.

Just like Ron's insistence that Jesus performed the majority of his works in the last 2-3 weeks of his life. I actually worked it out in a previous post on this blog a couple of months ago, and jesus did something like over 85% of his major works BEFORE the last three weeks of his life! Ron is factually/scriptural WRONG about his claim. The Bible EASILY proves this. Just Google jesus' works and count them! You will discover for yourself (observation/analysis) that Ron is TOTALLY wrong. 10-15% of Jesus' work is NOT the majority of his work!! And to claim this "fact" is a lie, not a mistake, as the number is wayyy too small to be called anything like a "majority". Once again, scientific thinking PROVES without a doubt Ron is totally wrong.

So Helen, don't take their word for it because the word 'scientist' is attached to their name. No one should no more "believe" in science in the same way they believe in God. But to me, since scientific knowledge is testable and repeatable, it is infinitely more trustworthy compared to religious belief and holy scriptures. In in Ron's case, the 'science' he proclaims is easily proven wrong.

Avalo, I think I forgot to tell you about 2 shows my hubby and I watched on H2. One was scientist who studied and researched the apocalyps. The scientist said, it doesn't matter whether you are christian, athiest, buhhda, scientology, etc.... everyone believes in the apocalyps. Not in the Revelation, but scientifically. Then after that there was another show between Christians and Scientist.
Just curious when the Scientist few say they have proof and everyone believes in the apocalyps. Do you believe that? Just wondering, but they told their facts scientifically about it. But yet I found them doing more guessing than proof on the most part.

Well James, I am an atheist, and think the Bible is nonsense, but I like the fact that you are using simple reasoning and common sense to try and understand how the Bible fits reality. Atheists like me hate Christianity primarily through the arrogant, self-righteous proclamation that THEY, Christians, are right, not that the Bible may be right. Nothing makes one an atheist faster than reading the Bible from cover to cover, but what really seals the deal is usually Christians...Christians that believe that they can invade people's spiritual privacy any time they want to trumpet how right and wonderful they are because of Jesus, and how evil and sick I am for rejecting the evidence for God, thanks to the Bible and science. Believing in God is not the same as KNOWING that one is right because they merely believe. I thank you for being clear about your BELIEF.

You be all you can be for God, and I will be all I can be for my kids/wife/cat/career. And together we will keep on trying to make the world a better place.

Happy 2012...
