Home Confinement for the Spokeman Witness
Recently a comment was left by “mirele” pointing out the Bureau of Prisons [BOP] policies on home confinement. Title 18, Section 3624(c) of the US Code provides:
“(c) Pre-release custody.–The Bureau of Prisons shall, to the extent practicable, assure that a prisoner serving a term of imprisonment spends a reasonable part, not to exceed six months, of the last 10 per centum of the term to be served under conditions that will afford the prisoner a reasonable opportunity to adjust to and prepare for his re-entry into the community.”
The “conditions” may be a halfway house. They also may be home confinement with electronic monitoring such as the GPS ankle bracelet of humility that Ron wore between his conviction in June of 2012 and reporting to prison in February of 2013. Whichever method, the prisoner is still considered to be in the custody of the BoP. For example, young earth creationist and tax felon Kent Hovind is currently on home confinement with the BoP website showing his release date as August 9.
What does this mean for Weinland?
In Weinland’s case, he has a scheduled release date of February 17, 2016. Getting out my false-prophecy-date-calculating tool (Microsoft Excel), I calculate that Weinland could go on home confinement as early as October 13 or as late as October 29 depending on how “last 10 percentum of the term to be served is interpreted”. There are 1110 days from the date Ron entered prison to his scheduled release date, and there are about 1277 days in 42 months, the length of his sentence. Calculating 111 or 127 days of home confinement These dates are also approximate since the BoP may round off their calculations differently and put other factors in their calculation. So I would just put it that Weinland could be on home confinement in mid to late October of this year.
During his home confinement while awaiting sentence and reporting to prison, Weinland was able to hold services in his basement and live stream his sermon audio to mesmerize his shorn sheep around the world. But he was not able to travel mesmerize them in person.
The Last Great Day is October 5 this year, so with the mid to late October date range for home confinement, this would be the third Last Great Day that Ron will not be able to give one of his barn-burner sermons. But with this date range he would be able to stream an audio sermon the day before the third time he begins his job as Spokesman of the Two Witnesses for the third time on November. The last two times he began his job as Witness(during April and December of 2008), he and the Silent Witness traveled to Jerusalem. But he would not be free to do so this time. Maybe the Silent Witness will travel to Jerusalem for the event while the Spokesman Witness speaks to an Internet audio stream. Will be interesting to see how he’ll spin this.
