Government Persecution of God’s Church

Even though False Prophet Ronald Weinland was not immediately carted off to prison at his sentencing hearing on Wednesday, he did not take the opportunity to talk it up to the faithful.  Instead chief dupe/evangelist Johnny Harrell is giving the sermon.  Ron may have shipped his laptop off to Georgia as Alan Giles gave the opening prayer after some pre-sermon music and then Johnny came on line.  Paul Giles gave the closing prayer. There were a couple of announcements about the death of a member’s husband and an ordination of Nat in Canberra, but nothing about the 42-month sentence handed down to God’s own End-Time Witness.

Governments have oppressed God’s people through history.   By inference the US Government is likened to  Nebechudnezzer and Pharaoh.  Similarly, Ron is likened to Jeremiah thrown in a well to shut him up because of his message.  At least to those who have found out about the conviction and sentencing.  Johnny wasn’t at the sentencing on Wednesday to hear the court make clear that the criminal case was not about Ron’s religion, but rather his failure to obey Jesus and render to Caesar that which is Caesar’s.  All Ron had to do to avoid this “persecution” was to pay the proper taxes.

But Ron will still be the apostle and in charge of the church, according to Johnny.  I expect this means that whichever institution houses Ron can look forward to weekly visits by the Silent Witness.

Further details on Ron’s sentence.  Ron self-reports to prison on January 2.  There is no credit for the time he spent wearing the GPS ankle bracelet of humility.  For each year that Ron serves, he is eligible for 54 days of good conduct reduction of his sentence.  So on January 2 of 2016, his sentence may have been reduced by 162 days or most of the 6 months remaining.  So Ron should be discharged some time around the middle of January, 2016.

On his release from prison, he starts 3 years of supervised release.  One of the terms of supervised release is that he cannot leave the judicial district of the Eastern District of Kentucky without the permission of either the court or the probation office.  Depending on their mood, they might or might not be willing to allow him to travel around to visit his scattered membership.  In any case, it will be more than 3 1/2 years since Ron’s last trip out of town on May 19 to London and possibly 6 1/2 years before he can do it again.

While Ron did not show up today to spin the 42-month aspect, someone else has taken up the gauntlet.

Ron will be happy to learn he won’t have to go to prison after all.

  • J says:

He’ll be in prison an absolute minimum of 3 years, that’s good news. No credit for time served and no significant “good behavior” reduction. Worst case scenario, I figure he’d only serve 1/2 of his sentence and get 4 months credit for house arrest.

Three full years of PKG without Weinland to pull the strings directly. How long can Laura keep it together?

  • Rterlecki says:

This asshole makes me so mad government depressed gods people,if it was not for government this asshole Ron and his bitch would not be able to talk there shit and still money . government and young man like my father fought World War Two so this asshole and his bitch could preach there b.s and still money from old people and dumb people

  • Rterlecki says:

An other thing if it was not for government most of these stupid pkg members would not have s.s or Medicare and after they gave him all there money they would starve to death. What r they thinging am I wrong? Talk to me!!!

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Yes….the last two EXACT prophecies REVEALED BY GOD were not right…but THIS exact, numerical prophecy is? LOL!

So now December 25 is the new EXACT failed prophecy…fascinating…

  • Laurie P. says:

It will be interesting to see who steps up to take his place while he is in prison, and how they explain it, if it is ever gone into in any detail.

  • Anon says:

Zerubbabel is mentally ill, why tie this to Ron, they are not at all alike.

Ron covered up and lied before Ceasar, spinning weak excuses instead of just cooperating, and tried to spin THAT as persecution against God which destroys those who are actually trying to live that faith. Meanwhile the Judge is saying that PKG beliefs have nothing to do with it, Ron is the one trying to make it look like that. The testimony of the defense make it look like a school age child saying ‘nuh-uh, I didn’t do nothin’. Mate, why did you not strengthen you flock’s conviction that God is with you by giving to Ceasar what is Caesar’s just like Jesus said, and there would have been no problem. Nobody made you lie and try to cover this up. You could have addressed the church in a truthful and right way and shown that while people make mistakes you own up and try your best to make it right. This so called persecution had nothing to do with God and this b.s. only adds to the reputation that Armstrong COGs have earned as swindling high roller con jobs. What did NOT happen was Ron acknowledging “this is what happened, here is what I tried to do to make it right” followed by the judge sentencing Ron because he hates God. What DID happen was Ron spending lots of money on luxuries while telling everyone else to be above board while himself being sloppy with his finances, okay that happens to some people, but then the tax man comes and Ron obstructs and “plays the game” instead and loses, exposing himself as profiteering and haughty taking everyone for a fool.

Zerubbabel on the other hand acts and sounds like someone who has schitzophrenia and should be in treatment, not a good comparison.

  • Mike (DDTFA) says:

I’m not sure about Ron’s mental health. While he comes across as sane even when claiming to be one of the Two Witnesses and that his wife is the other.

But he mentions hearing God in his head. Does this not sound like schizophrenia? Not a mental health expert, but I don’t expect that anyone else here is one either.

In any case, they are tied together. Zerrubabel was formerly a PKG member, and periodically disses on Ron.

  • Anon says:

I know … yes you may be right! Just saying Zerubbabubble *actually* sounds and acts nuts. Ron acts and sounds more deliberate. Not saying that is how it is, just saying that is how it looks – just my opinion of course.

  • Anon says:

I didn’t know that Zerub was a former pkg member … yikes!!!! I was just thinking out loud there, sorry.

  • Mike (DDTFA) says:

I first blogged about Zerubbabel two years ago.

  • AnonPKG says:

I totally agree Anon . This Zerubbabel fella (whom I have recently learnt about) truly sounds nuts. I can still listen to Ron in a calm manner because he is able to sound more deliberate, yes, and that is what gets me. In saying that I kinda agree with Mike (DDTFA) that either way It is totally nuts. I am still confused on what REALLY goes on with our “Top” representatives (If they truly are messengers of God) because none of this ever gets mentioned with us church members at all.In fact If I was not handy with a computer I probably still be convinced I was following the “True Church” This Stinks guys It truly does!!!! Thanks also to a certain ex-PKGer who sent out certain info about this to most PKG members of us left. I had no doubt in my mind until I received that info before I even knew about this site. So thanks To that person(s).

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

It is wonderful to see you waking up to the truth about Weinland. It truly does “stink” as you put it. keep in mind that the “top” representatives (Harrell/Wrozek) in the PKG started their own incorporated “church” in Georgia, and Ron/they didn’t tell you about it. It is under the title fo PKG, but is inactive. Why does it exist? What need is there for it? How is starting a secret religious “corporation” God’s Work? These are LEGITIMATE questions. If the PKG are God’s Church, then why does there need to be secrets, like Jeremy’s secret ‘scholarship”? If it is God’s money then why is only Weinland spending it, and most of the 3 MILLION when to buying wine, diamonds, gold, cars, and payments towards Audra’s/jeremy’s lifestyles?

Questions: Jesus encouraged them, Weinland threatens anyone who raises them, including the IRS agent whom Audra and Weinland tried to block…what does “God” have to fear from the IRS?

Ask questions of Harrell and Wrozek, ask questions of Laura…you will discover very quickly the “fruits” of the top representatives very quickly…

  • If it is God’s money then why is only Weinland spending it

    Because he’s a god?

  • martin says:

Most PKGers unfortunately fall for the “because I told you so” as proof.

Why is Ronald Weinland God’s prophet? Because Ronald told you so.

Here is a check list, God provided it so that you can KNOW whether one is or is not one of TTW’s.
    from Rev. 11
    1) they breath fire
    2) they turn rivers to blood
    3) they can call for droughts
    4) the can call out other plagues
    5) there mission is 3 1/2 years
    6) they both are martyred in Jerusalem
    7) they are resurrected after 3 1/2 days

Has Ronald fulfilled ANY of the above?

    The answer is no.

  • martin says:

Not a single prophecy remotely non-ambigious…..that Ronald has uttered has come true.

    NOT ONE.

  • Many ACoG members I have observed like to believe that the top minister / leader cares about them personally: It is this delusion that infuses loyalty, because each person thinks that there is a real connection between and the top dog. This makes them special.

The reality is that the individual member only is as valuable as a cash machine and an ego stroker to make the leader important.

Anyone who fails at that is at risk of being abandoned, but the self-made myth persists.

  • Budgie Smugglers says:

Hey Martin, you’re so right ! Any God would be so embarrassed to have a” tard ” like Weinland represnting him , speaking for him, when he ( God ) has not spoken……….
We are not entitlled to speak, or contenplate what a Christ might do to us ? How dare these so-called Ministers try to make the call ? ….. when they are so guilty of thieft, debautury, and falsfying the truth .

  • Whisper says:

wRONg gonefor 3 years, hmmmmm. Yes, whom will keep the sheeples in line and keep the tithes flowing?
Harrel? Harrel & Laura? How long with the hand-fed sheeples come to the new hands that want to feed them?
Keeping wRONg off the air is actually a smart move, if intentional, as he needs to break from leading the sheep if any sheep are to remain after 3 years.
Wrong needs to appoint a successor in the mean time, a spokesman as most may not follow Laura, being a mere woman and all… 🙂
wRONg needs to spin like it was 1999! He needs to move the sheeples emotionally so that they have a better chance at sticking with the new regime.
He has motivation to do it to as Laura will now be at the mercy of the tithes that come in between 2013 and 2016.
To keep more fruit from falling off the tree wRONg needs to spin it like nobodys business and at the same time retreat and give time over to Harrel as the new shepard.
But can wRONg do it? Will the sheep accept it? If so then for how long? The cult 1 year from now might be quite different from the one we see today.

  • Mafia types seem to be able to run things from prison just fine.

OK, John Gotti, Junior was an exception, but still….

  • bags juror #199 says:

He may not qualify for a diagnosed mental illness, but anyone in their right mind with two brain cells left can see this nut bag is just that, Nuts! Jeffery Dahmer appeared normal to co-workers etc; I am sure if he could actually breath fire and perform these so called miracles his greedy ass would employ those skills for some cash. Who wouldn’t?

This clown is so full of B.S. he floats around in it. I think that he has some major problems to figure out in short order. #1. The IRS is watching every tithe that comes in and how it is spent. #2. Less will be coming in. #3. Laura & Harrell can not profit without tax returns. #4. The sheeple want to see and hear Ron’s lies not someone else’s. #5. wRONg also has to support Audra & Jeremy still.

*** Needless to say things (money) will tighten up and the pressure is on. The Weinlands could not sell their home or Audra’s for what they owe on them. The BMW’s have taken a serious depreciation by now and if they are financed they are stuck there as well. In my opinion these folks will want to remain in the high dollar life style with a money crunch. Not a good place to be.

Ron better get on his Mayan voodoo dance going and hope December 21st 2012 is the last day. He is such a tool!

  • Velvet says:

“persecution against God which destroys those who are actually trying to live that faith.”

Exactly. Harrell and Wrozek need to spell out just how it is, with their jewels and BMWs, and Ron’s cozy stay in Club Fed (Three square meals a day and no “responsibilities” whatsoever–do they have “prison pay” in the US like in Canada?), that the US Feds are at all, remotely, re-enacting, say, Foxe’s Book of Martyrs or even The Martyrs’ Mirror, because, ehhhh, I’m not seeing it. At all.

Even some IN the Church (the actual Church, not any of these wacko splinter groups) try to spin it like they’re all such oh-so-persecuted martyrs. Note, I’ve heard this from BOTH sides; i.e., the Evangelicals try to spin bitter ex-members sending letters quoting the Major Prophets to Junior as “death threats” into “persecution” — I even had one truly brainwashed minister try to convince me that if the letter-writer had made good on said “threats,” (I’ll bet any money the poor chump was just quoting Ezekiel or Isaiah, and Junior decided to spin it as “a death threat” to him personally) this poor, deceived chump actually believes that Junior WOULD have been martyred the same way “the saints” in Foxe’s Book of Martyrs were….Notwithstanding the fact that Junior’s “theology” firmly sides with those DOING the martyring in said book, not with the faithful martyrs themselves….

In. My. Opinion. Anyone who tries to even remotely spin social discord or dis-unity among their group (or even in the actual Church itself) as any kind of “persecution” on the same lines as what happened to the Anabaptists and the other martyrs of the Church of God, from the first century, down to the about the 20th century, needs to SIT DOWN, SHUT UP AND ACTUALLY READ THE BOOKS IN QUESTION.

Then look me in the eye and tell me how “persecuted” you are, please, because I just ain’t seeing it. Even stuff I go through, IN the Church, for my beliefs and steadfast faith in God, is still not even CLOSE to what people have been subjected to, in the past.

Perspective is everything. You’re so persecuted, are you? Sit down, shut up, and read that Bible — the one that those who were KILLED to bring it to you, were actually persecuted for.

  • Don D says:

I’m astonished that there are still COG-PKG members who apparently take Ron Weinland seriously. Apart from his recent sentencing for failing to pay taxes due, consider the following.

In the COG-PKG web site under “Topics”, Weinland has an entry entitled “Conspiracy Theories”.

In the first part of 2008 this entry concluded with the following proclamation of “truth”:

“The truth is, we are at the very end of man’s self-rule on this earth, and even Satan’s rule is about to end. The government of God is coming to this earth on September 29, 2011. Nothing and no one can stop this from taking place!”

In the latter part of 2008 Ron Weinland changed that proclamation of “truth” to read:

“The government of God is coming to this earth on May 27, 2012. Nothing and no one can stop this from taking place!”

After May 27, 2012 passed without the “unstoppable occurence” of the government of God coming to earth, Weinland changed the proclamation of “truth” once again, and it now reads:

“The government of God is coming to this earth on May 19, 2013. Nothing and no one can stop this from taking place!” Yeah, right!

In his book “2008 – God’s Final Witness”, Weinland proclaimed on page 22 that the two End-Time Witnesses “know the exact day that Jesus Christ will return”.

And on page 24 he tells us precisely HOW HE KNOWS this with absolute certainty. He says that “They know the exact day that Jesus Christ will return because they know their final work will last exactly 1,260 days”. And how do they know when THAT will be? Ah, yes – Ron assures us that “God has given to Jesus Christ the timing for the seals to be opened, and Jesus Christ, in turn, has given the timing to me”. Really? So why is he now up to his third divinely revealed date for Christ’s return?

Remaining PKGers! How can you possibly still take this charlatan seriously? How can you possibly read the claims of Ronald Weinland, and still believe that he is God’s so-called End-Time Witness and Prophet?

On tiny little awkward problem is that on May 19, 2013 Weinland will still be in jail. Completing, among other things, his “final work of 1260 days” no doubt! But on page 22 of his book he says that God revealed to him that “the two prophets of God” (i.e. he and Laura) will be in Jerusalem and there killed and remain in the streets of that city for three and one-half days prior to Christ’s return, “while the world watches via television”. And then they will “rise up into the heavens to meet Jesus Christ”. Do PKGers not wonder how this “divinely revealed” scenario will be accomplished while Ron is languishing in prison? It’s all become a bit of a joke hasn’t it? Or is there some awesome miracle in the offing which will make this “prophecy” come true despite those minor logistical difficulties?

For those of you who are still left in the so-called “Church”, isn’t it time you started to think for yourselves and see the obvious? In the light of the above, it’s painfully obvious that Mister Ronald Weinland has no idea what he’s talking about. He hasn’t a clue, AND NEVER DID HAVE! Ever!

  • Kirrily XPKG says:

Ah yes, but Don D, that would mean that they would have to swallow their PRIDE and admit they were WRONG.

It was a hard pill for me to swallow back in 2009 when I had already made a complete idiot of myself sticking with him after the failure of his first timeline.

It was my DEFIANT PRIDE that kept me ‘believing’ – it was easier to keep believing than admit I was wrong. Admit to myself that god wasn’t in fact with me, leading me.

But wow, after I swaller my pride pill, the relief and freedom eventually came.

LaurieP – I’m glad to hear that by my sharing here has helped in some small way. Mike’s blog has been my sanity through all this.

AnonPKG – this very blog has been my support group! It’s tough for a while when you leave, it’s a journey, a painful yet liberating one.

  • People with good judgment seek correction.

Understanding where you are wrong is a good way to learn better choices.

People who don’t listen, don’t hear and don’t want to see where they are mistaken are the people with the very worst judgment in the world.

Unfortunately, this experience came to me while watching management at huge corporations make terrible errors which finally ended in the business being sold and people losing their jobs (it was fortunate that I was fired for exposing it and ended up with a better job with more pay for a longer time).

  • Budgie Smugglers says:

For me, that is the bit that hurts the most, with ‘ol Bubble-head being a false poppet, He backed out! I was so looking forward to see this unfold in Jerusalem, ( even if he staged it, by picking a fight with Bikers or something ), He did’nt even go to Jerusalem , it did’nt bloody happen………… I was just, consumed with anger and disappointment , how dare he get MY hopes up , and just “spiritualise it away”.
Oh well, I never gave him a dime, so I can’t say I did’nt get a “bang for my buck”.

You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord? If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so DO NOT be alarmed.”

Who are you going to believe, PKG? The Word of God?

…or Ronald Weinland the CRIMINAL and FALSE PROPHET who said that if the events didn’t happen EXACTLY according to the timeline in his book he was indeed a FALSE PROPHET and REPENT…

    LIES or GOD?

    Which is it?

  • Budgie Smugglers says:

Government of God ? Yeah, good one , Bubble-head ! It is said that God made the earth and the universe.
And he put things upon the Earth to grow etc; ( not to Govern them ) Where is it stated anywhere ( except for Bubble-head’s writings ) that God has a Government ?
Bubble-head hates ( what he calls ) “The Holy Roman Empire”, in reality, the Catholic Church, it is not an Empire, The Vatican is regarded as a Country within Italy, ( Separate State ) and is Governed by its own Administrative Council or “Government”, if you will ………. It is not a God’s Government, and if Bubble-head ( and that mad scream’n monkey before him , Herbie ) hates the Vatican so much, why does he want a model of the Administration of it to rule the Earth ? Does’nt make sense …… I have some friends who are Catholic, or were, but they say they were never ruled by the Vat.
‘ol Bubble-head wants to rule the Earth, and call it God’s rule over the Earth, He is not God ! Christ is not coming back for a little tard like ‘ol Bubble head, or his mindless clan.

Through his website and his sermons
And she laughed until she nearly peed.

Oh I remember the nights that the prophecy was false
    In 2011, and 2012
And yet these lies he did not admit or even try to shelve
And again his next prophecy’s false…

I was watching my old TV, when I happened to see
    A story from the U S of A
About Weinland and his tax fraud
    And his lying about God
And still he says Christ’s back in May.

Oh we see through the game that he plays in God’s name
And the money that he tried to hide
Cuz he’s filled with self-pride and he knows that he’s lied
    And yes…his next prophecy’s false.

The less dependant of the cult will slip away over time when wRONg is serving time. The more dependant could very well slip away over time due to a “need” and find the next COG splinter that has a preacher/leader that is not in prison. The most dependant will stay the course as a matter of course. But feelings of dis-illusionment will arise as more and more time goes on.
wRONg could face a very small gathing upon release.
Will Laura be able to weather the 3 year storm with possible failing sheeples sending in thier fleece?
What will Wayne and Harrel do? Even they might get disilluioned by a missing leader and start looking over the COG’s next door…
Here’s hoping for release for any PKG memeber, even if they go next door to the next COG could it possibly get any worse?

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

I doubt Ron or Laura approve of Harrell and Wrozek having their own INCORPORATED version of the Church (Church of God-Preparing for the Kingdom of God, Inc. in Georgia). Strange. How can there be TWO “true” Churches of God if there is only ONE government in God’s Family? Uh-oh…Harrell and Wrozek are not following Ron…why would they need THEIR own Church if Ron’s is the “right” one?

Not only is Ron going to jail, BUT Harrell and Wrozek have their own secret church in Georgia. You can check for yourself…

If Laura is the head of God’s Church, WHY do Harrell and Wrozek have their own church? Your senior elders are up to something…

  • could it possibly get any worse?

    Actually, it could. Trust me.

No one could imagine how extreme these one-off Armstrongist cultists can get — to the point of being abusive, weird and creepy.

If PKG members absolutely MUST go some place, they should pick some place benign that doesn’t control their lives and make them miserable.

And the ACoGs just aren’t that place.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

    Good point, Douglas…

I just listened to a bit of Johnny Harrell’s sermon from two days ago. Dear God! The guy talks so slow and exhaustingly…I nearly fell asleep. Don’t get me wrong, he has a nice voice with a really pleasant Southern accent; the kind you absolutely want for a bedtime story!! This guy is going to sermonize on the End Times? How will anyone stay awake?!

Then, when they see that we are NOT lying and that Ron actually, really, for sure has lied to them and cheated them…then they will understand…

When in prison your rights are curtailed. Ron will become the property of the state. He is about to find out what his greed did to him. When he is freed we can only hope that this experience will change him for the better….or not!

Just going to do what is required of me day by day. Doing nothing except sending and spending money I don’t have while waiting around for everyone else to die is not it. What a diseased toxic mind I got sucked in to, so embarrassing.

Sorry to report, some members spoke to me recently, fishing for gossip, hoping I will fail now that I am gone so that they feel vindicated. Sound like they really believe that Ron’s situation is government persecution against the church and God’s way of life. It’s one thing if you believe that because it’s all you heard, but if you have the facts and still believe that then … well … I don’t know what to say or think, but I also don’t care anymore. Time to move on. Just wish I could buy you all a round of drinks to say thank you for sharing your stories and helping others recover.

  • Mike (DDTFA) says:

Fixed that for you, Anon. I see that you are now “outed” within PKG as a now former member. We’ve had several people here posting as “Anon” over the past few months, gets a little confusing. Wonder if you could choose a more unique handle, and to avoid further confusion make it of the form
    “new_handle (was Anon)”

Glad to understand that you’ve left, and by all means stick around the blog for whatever help it gives you. Please share whatever you’re comfortable with.

  • Overit says:

This blog does help when you know that you are not alone. I read Kirrily’s first post and it struck a nerve. I too stopped attending in late’09. It took me quite a while to stop trying to think as Ron was teaching!. I have such a better outlook on life now. My spouse, however is still in. Kirrily’s post hit the nail on the head! He will not quit because of pride and the desire to be right.

Ron is an evil man. The sound of his voice turns my stomach. He often speaks of how pride is our biggest downfall but he needs to look in the mirror!!!

Sadly my husband has gone thru all his savings, retirement, and some. I am sure if he had not ever believed in that fool it would not have been the case. I was a little more astute when it came to my savings/retirement. This whole ordeal has almost ruined my marriage and is currently hanging on a thread, I honestly love the man but he is being duped and there is no way to speak to him about it without a major argument. It is very difficult when we are not on the same page. He obsesses over world events and seemed almost euphoric or with the attitude “I told you so” when Israel attacked Hamas

I hope Ron reads these posts so he knows how his false teachings have impacted and even ruined relationships.

  • Linda says:

We should of written letters to Judge Reeves to give him a birds eye view of how this man is evil and has ruined so many lives!

  • Rterlecki says:

Amen Linda u are so right.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

It is really sad to see that your marriage is so affected by this sick theology. The fact that your husband was “encouraged” or uplifted by war is an excellent example of how Armstrongite theology is a Death Cult that glorifies itself in light of human suffering. Lost in all the Doomsday “glory is the fact that many innocent Palestinians (Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc) will get killed for merely living in an area run by Hamas. Most don’t have the money, education, or ability to “just get out of there” and go make a life somewhere else, so they have no choice but to remain. Weinland’s theology makes people immune to compassion, and truth. And you are on the ‘business’ end of it now.

I would just like to say that no matter how much crap you may go through in your relationship in the future, please remember that you too (not just the newly freed ex-PKG slaves) are not alone in this next stage of your freedom. I have been there. YOU’ll make it…

  • Whisper01 says:

Looking at articles of war, suffering, battle, fights, rockets, airstrikes… and being uplifted?
That is a doomed life, it has only one way to travel – straight down.
A sadder thing I have not read all week.

  • Overit says:

I would not go as far to say that he likes war, but rather that he thinks this is all part of God’s plan as Weinland preaches. he believes that we are that much closer to Christ’s return. I have listened to a few of his sermons over the past 4 or so months and he always starts out with how bad things are in the world. He technique to lure people in is to scare the crap out of them. My husband is really just another victim of weinland’s craziness!

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

…and another person’s life is ruined by a CoG minister’s obsession with glorifying himself…welcome to the world of Armstrongism…

  • Budgie Smugglers says:

    From Overit :

“He technique to lure people in is to scare the crap out of them.”

‘Ol Bubble head is just scary …….. and that’s before he says anything ? LoL 😀
And as for the fighting, in the middle-east, it seems evident that when these hooded trouble-makers have had enough, they seek refugee status and safety, in Western Countries ?, which was the cause of their unrest in the first place ? ‘ol Bubble-head should realise that, its not the start of Armageddon, its a proven path to cheap, mass-migration, to places they hate ? ( they usually throw thier I.D.’s away, so there is no history on them, and they can’t be sent back ….. without I.D. ) ( and they come to a neighbourhood near …….. well, they just come to bug ya ) 🙁

Overit: Sadly I am in the same sinking boat as you. I thought my husband was done with this crap, but recently found out he is worried that I will leave him if he shows that he really wants to be a part of this nonsense.I am so filled with grief. I told him to just go. Do what you think is right. It’s not enough that we are in debt unlike we have ever experienced due to the membership fund, at risk of losing a whole lot more..he is still walking around like a Stepford Wife. Funny thing is ,,he hasn’t been keeping contact or listening,,as far as I know. Oh well, is he the casuality or am I? There are so many of us feeling the same, worse, not as bad and on the verge,,they are reading this blog though. And I’m thankful for that..And Mike, I will make sure to give a special thank you to you this Thanksgiving,,and all the rest of you. Have a wonderful family filled day..

  • Mike (DDTFA) says:

Thank you, seaside. Glad I could help in some small way. Hoping that you’re saying that PKG members as well as relations are reading this blog.

And that you can get your husband back well before next Thanksgiving.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Amazing how much suffering and confusion surrounds the CoGs, considering they all proclaim they are God’s True Church. The wide swath of misery and financial ruin left in their wake grows even wider…

One person can make a difference in the world no matter who/what they are….as long as they first save themselves…you are not lost and there is hope.

A painful exit is still an EXIT…

  • jack635 says:

Mike, do you know if Ron is still under home detention since his sentencing. Or has he been released from his ankle bracelet of humility and now only required to report to prison in January?

  • Budgie Smugglers says:

Here is yet another ( false Prophet-poppet ) , classic example of PKGing ( Herbie-ism ) gone too far ! This guy looks like Ethel Merman with an unchecked facial hair problem.
I bet his friends don’t invite him to their weddings …… he’d probably want to go dressed as the Bride ! LoL

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Oh yes, Michael Rood…the guy who unwittingly used pagan numerology and the Zodiac to “restore” the correct Hebrew calendar!! Just like Weinland and Zerubabel the Bearded Towel Wearer, Rood is getting exactly what he wants. Attention. No matter how negative or positive, he wants attention and is getting it. Doesn’t matter how many lives get destroyed, or how many lies he tells, as long as he gets attention and enough money to survive, he will continue on. And unfortunately, seaside and Overit are discovering this the really hard way.

When extremely low self-esteems and religion meet, there lies misery for the sane…

  • Ruth says:

I am glad that I found this blog. It has really helped me understand more about why my sister is staying in this church.
I don’t like it and I have not said much to her about it since I started reading because I don’t know what may push her completely away. As is, if anyone in the family wants contact, we are the ones to reach out. She seems happy to hear from me, but she never calls me anymore.
What I feared happened. Her and her significant other broke up and she moved out.
I think he just gave up hoping she’d leave.
I knew this was a bad place for her to be. I just didn’t realize the scope of it.

  • gullible says:

ron’s sentencing made me think back on ron, and it’s often hard for me to think about the process that led me to him and how I could have got involved in the first place. I think one of the reason was too much browsing in the internet about end times.
I have no doubt that I could have lost everything, even up to 95% of everything I owned had I continued all the way until 27th May 2012 with full belief. I hate to even think of the real possibility of losing even be up to 99% of everything owned if I were to continue even further (a real possibility) up to 19th May 2013 with full belief.
The key words being “full belief” in “The End”, as you will lose proportional to you’re belief. E.g. If you believe 100%, you will lose 100% (yes, that would mean you and your family having to go to an accommodation greater than 5 stars – camping out permanently out in the elements).

Exploiting on weak minds, ron getting 10% tithes is not really his main target, but the “above and beyond”. That’s why he’ll never admit he’s a false prophet as setting dates is his bread and butter. Instead he will always have excuses, just like his “possibly the last” sermon, where he mentioned about GPS which often needs to re-calculate and re-adjust itself to give updated directions. By saying this, ron tried to give some credibility to his “Present Truth”. ron, let’s call a spade a spade and call it the “Latest Lie”.

ron is probably hoping that there is pay tv in jail. Also, that he’d be allowed to bring a calculator to play around with numbers.

  • Mike (DDTFA) says:

Jack, the answer to your question is “Defendant released on conditions of release previously entered pending designation and selfsurrender
to institution no later than January 2, 2013 at 2:00 P.M.” See link==>

Ruth, I’m curious. When you talk about your sister having a significant other, were they cohabiting without benefit of marriage? ’cause Ron frowns on that.

  • Ruth says:

They lived together as a couple until she joined the church.
After she joined, she quit having sex with him, but they were still living in the same house.
    She slept on the couch.

  • Ruth says:

Technically they were still a couple only because they hadn’t broken up. But, they weren’t really together.

  • Kirrily XPKG says:

And THAT right there is the trap. Do you REALLY believe? Prove it.

  • Matt says:

I really wonder if Ron’s absence will lead to a coup.

  • Mike (DDTFA) says:

Probably not. From what I hear, Laura runs things anyway.

  • Movin' On says:

Dear Seaside & Overit ~ My husband found PKG in early 2008 and has been mentally gone since then, physically gone from our home for 6 months now. Although his leaving has been tough on everyone (we have several kids), it has been better since he has been gone. While he was here, he wasn’t really here. Constantly listening to sermons and just tuned out to life at home. Not participating in our “pagan holidays” but taking vacations with his church friends. Every day felt like salt in the wounds. My heart ached beyond belief not knowing what to do. Four years was enough time.

Giving up on him was the best thing I could have done. I should have done it sooner. He isn’t coming back. And even if he eventually wants to, he will not be the man I married. Too much has changed. It was just a matter of facing the facts that he made a decision about his life and we weren’t in it. Does it still hurt? Yeah, like hell. Is there anything I can do about it? Not a thing. I used to hope that one day he would wake up and hurt as much as he’s hurt us. Now I don’t even care. I need to get on with my life and make sure my kids have what they need to get on with theirs.

I don’t write much but I read as often as I can. If there is anything I can do or say, let Mike know and he can give you my email address.

Mike ~ I am so thankful for you and all the work you’ve done here. You have helped countless hurting hearts.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

  • seaside says:

Movin’ On: Thank you, I just might take you up on that offer. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OBSERVERS! 🙂

  • jack635 says:

Moving On, when i read comments such as yours It makes me think about the retribution Ron will receive. He is eventually going to prison for a long time. I think that being locked up for 3.5 years is indeed a long time. Add on to that an additional three years of parole, and he is losing 7 years of complete freedom. Too bad he can’t be banned from preaching too. I wish the PKG would have been declared a criminal organization. Not to worry though, I think it is already crumbling.

I hope Ron’s imprisonment will be some consolation to those who have been so brutally wronged by his insane greed.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

    Yes, Happy Thanksgiving!

  • gullible says:

Although, I still do some browsing in the internet every once in a while, I hope to take extra care … anyway I saw an interesting one yesterday. This is probably old news now, but apparently ron wasn’t the only one having date in court in June 2012. The founder of Singapore’s biggest church (by attendance) had his day too.

  • jack635 says:

Gullible, lets hope this is a long-term trend. Not of preachers ripping off their congregations, but of governments investigating all churches for financial impropriety. I personally think any local church with an actual church building has a good chance of being an actual church. But these multi city and multi country “churches ” are ALL low on my list of trustworthiness. A church is supposed to be community based and community oriented. The money is supposed to go to the electric and heating bills, relief projects, and helping the homeless and the widow and orphaned. Not some fat scumbag who wants a bigger house and a caddillac or BMW.
