Motions in Limine 2

Wednesday, May 30th, 2012

The pre-trial conference in the matter of the criminal trial of False Prophet Ronald Weinland took place on Monday of last week.  Since Christ did not return to convert Ron to spirit being and kill the 7000 “named” (who included yours truly and probably the IRS case agent and the US attorneys trying him), the trial moves forward as scheduled beginning on June 4 with jury selection.

This post updates the preliminaries as the two sides exchange motions in limine to suppress testimony and witnesses the other side might offer.

The government sought to disqualify a defense expert witness who would testify as to the fair market value of the church office space inside Ron and Laura’s mansion on the golf course, stating the government has already given them a parsonage allowance.  The defense counters with this information on the IRS web site:

The church often provides an office on the premises for the minister, so the necessity of an office in the home should be questioned closely. Furthermore, since the total cost to provide the home is used in computing the exempt housing allowance, home office deductions for taxes, insurance, mortgage interest, etc. would be duplications. (Note that itemized deductions are allowable for mortgage interest and taxes. IRC § 265(a)(6), and Rev. Rul. 87-32, 1987-1 C.B. 131).

The defense appears to have an uphill battle on this one.

The government sought to disqualify an expert witness who would testify as to the fair market value of Jeremy’s website services, based on educational qualifications and the lack of evidence that Jeremy actually performed substantial services.  The defense counters that they will provide evidence of these services and seek to qualify their witness as an expert despite his lack of education, pointing out that Bill Gates and Steve Jobs did not graduate from college.  While I believe that Jeremy does maintain the church website, I expect that the ongoing maintenance requires at most 2 hours per week of his time consistent with volunteer effort of other church elders.  (My estimate based on the technical part of the effort to maintain this website and the amount of editorial content he has to cut-and-paste.)  And how much work did Jeremy perform and how much was performed by Greg Chipps?

The government sought to disqualify a former IRS special agent as a defense expert witness, pointing out that he retired in 1999 after the case special agent filed an EEOC complaint against him, therefore his experience was stale.  The defense counters that the former IRS special agent has maintained a consulting practice and kept up with current IRS regulations.

The government sought to prevent the defense from offering a recording of the December 2002 sermon in which Weinland claims he is opening the Swiss bank accounts in his name but that it is really the church’s money.  The government’s position is that this recording is inadmissible by the defense on the basis of hearsay.  The defense counters that the statements do not constitute hearsay as they show Weinland’s intent at the time, and cite Kentucky law in support.  Since Weinland didn’t move to Kentucky until 2005 and these actions occurred while Ron was a resident of another state, I don’t understand why Kentucky law would be relevant.

The defense seeks to disqualify the IRS case agent from acting as a lay witness because she might introduce expert testimony.  The government responds that it will only elicit factual testimony regarding the conduct of the investigation with descriptions consistent with the judgment of a lay witness.

Judge Reeves has already issued rulings on two points:

  • The government is not allowed to introduce religious beliefs to discredit a witness.  But the government is not prohibited from introducing a witness’ beliefs to show bias.
  • The defense motion to suppress the testimony of lay church members was denied.  The government may elicit fact testimony from them.

A hearing is scheduled for 9 AM this morning in Judge Reeves’ court to consider the motions remaining in dispute.

We Move Forward

Sunday, May 27th, 2012

False Prophet Ronald Weinland delivered his Pentecost sermon in Cincinnati live and in person today.  And as a non-spiritual being, since Christ did not return yesterday and make him a member of Elohim. He redelivered the sermon he posted last night for the acolytes in time zones earlier than the US.  But he had additional content, with the sermon today lasting 2 1/2 hours instead of the under 2 hour sermon he gave last night.  One item of additional comment was to remind people to send in their holy day offerings, as though they haven’t already given enough.

To recap the main points, the jobs of the Two Witnesses are over. Despite all his failures, which is everything he prophesied, Ron is still a prophet.  Oh, and an apostle to boot.  Jesus Christ will still return on Pentecost.  But not this one.  Christ returns next Pentecost, May 19, 2013.  That is, he will return on that date until he doesn’t and at that time Weinland will have another date.

The year in front of us is the “day of the Lord” mentioned in Act 2:20:  “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:”  Ron had to invoke his special Strong’s Dictionary and Greek scholarship skills to rearrange that translation.

Over the next year, the thunders and trumpets will be fulfilled.  Everything in “2008 — God’s Final Witness” will yet come to pass. And I’m not out of the woods as I’m still on the list of 7000 “named” to die.  We on that list will be picked off over the next year.  Because it’s silly for our deaths to produce a result in only one hour, as it was silly that all 7 trumpets would blow in an hour.  How could anyone be so silly???

Despite the turmoil Ron prophesies for the next year, Ron plans to hold a feast this fall, for all 8 days.  He instructed his elders to try to establish the same feast sites used last year.  This was right after describing the mockery PKG members would be enduring.  So Ron mocked them for their consternation at having spent all that money following him around the past few months.  Somehow members will be able to attend despite having only 4 months to save up for the feast starting October 1.

And if they’re not able to attend because they gave even extra money to finance Ron’s latest Google ad campaign?  Well that’s on the member because they are the one who chose to do it.  But rest assured that Ron has a heavy heart, because Christ didn’t return as he prophesied to end all their misery.  But rest assured that Ron feels your pain, because he has that criminal tax trial to deal with now.

Ron has elevated Willem Henderson in the Netherlands to the rank of evangelist.  When he ordained Johnny and Wayne, he said that was it but since then we’ve had Terry and now Willem.

While he mentioned one person he disfellowshipped for sending out a dissenting email, many PKGers are still drinking the Flavor Aid.  Ralph Dowd and Steve Dalrymple were on hand to give the prayers.  (Steve is expected to be on hand to testify for the government in Ron’s criminal trial.)  Ron also read a number of emails from faithful members who while disappointed at the non-events of yesterday are continuing to outsource their thinking to Ron.

Ron’s theme was “We Move Forward”.  Yes we do.  “We” being Ron and yours truly.  We’re both still here.  For now, anyway. The most truthful thing Ron said was to the effect that by the end of June he’ll know the outcome of the criminal trial, characterizing it as God’s will.  I think it will be the will of 12 jurors picked to judge the governments case.  I’ll be covering that, as well as the fall out from his latest prophetic failures.  I think a few more will leave or have already left and we may hear from them.  I’m hoping that if they need a place to talk about it and have no other place that they’ll come here.

What About May 27?

Sunday, May 27th, 2012

Since False Prophet Ronald Weinland has long described the return of Christ as May 27, 2012, most who do not look into him further expect that means that Christ’s return is today, Sunday.  However, Weinland’s theology starts the holy day on the sundown of the prior evening.  Additionally, Weinland stated that Christ would return at sundown in Jerusalem which corresponded to mid-day in the United States on May 26.  See the Count-UP clock over in the right column.  Since then and also since Christ did not return, Weinland is “moving forward”.

Weinland is moving forward, and so is this blog.  To cover the aftermath of Weinland’s prophetic failures.  And then there’s the criminal trial of Ron in federal court which begins June 4.

This post is an announcement — comments are not enabled on this post.  However comments are enabled on other posts down below with more details on Ron’s antics.  Also, check out the pages linked in the banner at the top of the blog.  The “Biography” page is on Weinland, the “About” page is about me.

Gimme Just a Little More Time

Sunday, May 27th, 2012

False Prophet Ronald Weinland has made a double true prophet of me, by fulfilling my predictions that he would make a post to his blog or give a Pentecost sermon, having done both.  And a triple true prophet because as I expected he has not admitted to be a false prophet.

I haven’t listened to the complete sermon yet, but I think the gist is given below.  It’s been a full day following Ron’s antics and then getting a life in the evening, so I’m off to bed.  Will listen to the rest of Ron’s nonsense tomorrow and update as necessary.

In a sermon posted this evening to his website, he declared that he is still an apostle AND still a prophet.  Christ is returning on Pentecost, just not this one.  I think he said that it would be next Pentecost.  But next Pentecost when it doesn’t happen, we’ll probably review and find that he didn’t really say it would be next Pentecost totally for sure.

According to the PKG website, Pentecost of 2013 falls on May 19. So the next moment of my death will be mid-day on May 18, 2013.

And as I predicted, Ron went back to his Strong’s Dictionary to find the best meaning of a word to help Ron through this Red Sea moment.

Ron said that planning would start to hold the feast for all 8 days.  May be a stretch for his members who have spent their second tithe following Ron around the country during the past few months that he was not overseas.

The Present Truth

Saturday, May 26th, 2012

False Prophet Ronald Weinland has made me a true prophet for having said in my last post:

I expect that he’ll make some kind of appearance by the next Saturday: a blog post, maybe a Pentecost sermon, dunno.  I expect that he will either try to stretch or restart another prophecy.

Ron has just posted some more blather to his blog, attempting to stretch it out a few more hours.  His nonsense quoted underneath, below the fold:

2012 — God’s Failed Witness

Saturday, May 26th, 2012

Rev 11:13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

According to False Prophet Ronald Weinland, I am one of the 7000 “named” to die within the same hour that Christ returns.  Guess what?? It’s been an hour since Christ returned and I’m not dead.  Oooppppss!!  While Thielogical Bob declared victory within minutes after Christ didn’t return, I’ve given it a full hour.  And I’m still not dead!!!

For those who’ve dropped by my blog and think the I am declaring victory too soon, because after all Ron said May 27 and not May 26, read my Duck and Cover post.  And if you still don’t understand, read it a second time.

What’s up next for Ron?  While some are thinking that Ron and Laura will commit suicide, I think that is a low probability.  But suicide is still a higher probability than his genuinely repenting, stopping preaching, and trying to atone for the wrong he’s done.

I expect that he’ll make some kind of appearance by the next Saturday: a blog post, maybe a Pentecost sermon, dunno.  I expect that he will either try to stretch or restart another prophecy.  Probably will claim that I said he would or had committed suicide.  At minimum he’s going to play the “while I’m not a prophet, I’m still an apostle” card, and continue to milk whatever tithes he can from his followers.  Which will continue to be the majority.

This false prophecy stuff can have serious consequences.  According to this article by KTLA:

KTLA News4:32 p.m. PDT, May 25, 2012

PALMDALE, Calif. (KTLA) — A mother in Palmdale is being held on $1-million bail after allegedly trying to drown her 8-year-old son in the pool at their apartment complex.

Around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, deputies from the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station responded to a rescue call of a woman attempting to hold a child under water in the pool at the Monte Vista apartment complex.

Once at the location, they learned that 33-year-old Allaire McDougall attempted to drown her son in the pool, according to a news release.

Bystanders intervened and rescued the boy.

“She’s telling him, ‘Son, you have to go. This is the end of the world,” witnesses told reporters.

The boy was taken to a local hospital and is now listed in stable condition.

McDougall was arrested for attempted murder and booked at the Palmdale Station.

Ron, if Allaire McDougall is one of your followers, and if there is a hell, then there has to be a spot in it for you.  Or if there will be a lake of fire, you will be one of the first to be cast in.

Or even if Allaire isn’t one of your followers.

Rev 22:18  For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Rev 22:19  And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Any UFOs in the Sky?

Saturday, May 26th, 2012

According to False Prophet Ronald Weinland, this is the moment of Christ’s return.  Maybe the “nukular” weapons went off somewhere else.  But perhaps you can see Christ in the heavens.  But most people, including the Beast Power led by the Catholic Church, will think he’s a UFO.
