Weltanschauung

Recently long time commenter Mark became offended after I allowed Avalo to post his opinion and went over to Jack’s blog to post:

I have realized that what matters to me more is the weltanschauung of the blog owner. Turning people away from Weinland is a noble thing, but it just leaves a person in limbo. Attempting to bring that person to an authentic relationship with Jesus through scriptural proof is more important to me than just chronicling the lies, deception and audacity of a two-bit preacher.

To which Jack responded eloquently:

Mark, believe me when I tell you, a person who has just escaped Ron’s grasp and is in limbo, the last thing they want to hear is someone preaching the gospel. They have to go through a complex trial of emotions and an introspective nightmare that will last months. No matter how nice I, or anyone, may be to an ex-cult member, the last thing they will want to talk about is God. Anyone who talks about their former situation or any kind of religion will receive a tirade of profanity and insults that will make them wish they had not brought up the subject.

I guess you could ask Kirrily and the relations of PKG members with whom I have corresponded privately via email if they felt that I left them in limbo because I didn’t push a particular religious agenda on them. We’ll have to wait for them to weigh in.  That is if they choose.  Because I regard our private email  exchanges as exactly that — private.  For example, I’ve known for some time that Kirrily and her husband are expecting their first child.  While I wasn’t sure why Kirrily chose not to share her happy news on my blog, I felt it was up to her to choose whether and when to do so.  So again Kirrily, congratulations.  I’m glad that you and your husband are getting the child you’ve wanted for so long.

As a result of Mark’s comment, I learned something new.  The meaning of “weltanschauung” which is world view.  In the comment sections to my posts, I’ve allowed others to express their opinions, within limits.  Including a recent one by Mark himself which quoted some scripture and a religious point of view.  To which Avalo responded with a different point of view resulting in everyone ganging up on him as though how dare he express a different point of view.   I just have to wonder how secure you are in your thinking if someone else expressing a different opinion upsets you.

Do I have a “weltanschauung”?  Yes, I do?  What is it?  Well, while I haven’t expressed it, I’m not in the least ashamed of it.  Rather, I thought it might distract from the subject of this blog, which is not my particular weltanschauung but rather False Prophet Ronald Weinland and the effect his lying insanity is having on others.  I will express this much of my weltanschauung which is relevant:

Do your own thinking, don’t let someone else do it for you.

I was going through all the comments where I started the whole thing about “ganging up on Avalo”, but I couldn’t find it. But, anyway, I want to apologize for starting an avalanche – didn’t mean to. I’m the one who made the first comment. So, I’m sorry everyone, especially Avalo. Sometimes my “mood of the day” gets integrated into other things inappropriately.

And, I’m sorry, Mike. Thanks for your post here.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

No offence taken Atrocious. Not like I haven’t dished out a little hate in my attempt to explain my position! We are all just human beings trying to make our way in the world, and all of us have our off-days. No hard feelings.

  • J says:

It is good to chronicle Weinland’s failings, but no one should expect Mike to go beyond that. Each person has to figure out their own beliefs. Holding them by the hand and influencing them to something else when they’re confused and vulnerable is predatory. Mike is doing his best to give an impartial report on what he hears every week and reminding us about Weinland’s failed dates. He’s not Fox News.

As for Avalo, he believes what he believes, and that’s fine. But ending most of his posts with a quip about God not existing is provocative. It puts believers on the defensive. Everyone here expresses their own beliefs in our posts just by the way we react to things, but those comments in nearly every post is unproductive and unnecessary. I think by now everyone knows that Avalo is an atheist and what he thinks of God and the Bible.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Why have you even brought ME up in this conversation? I actually apologize to people and or forgive Atrocious for example, and STILL you are going on and on about me and my atheism?

I truly and humbly thank you J and Mal for making my point for me.

Why would anyone want to believe in the God you guys believe in, when you can’t even give me credit for apologizing? Actually that sounds exactly like the God Ronald Weinland believes in. No mercy and forgiveness for anyone.

  • jack635 says:

Avalo, I was about to comment before you did but the power went off here and my screen went blank. Huge thunderstorm, but not from Ronald Weinland’s BS.
I was going to say for an atheist your last five or so comments were not atheistic at all, and (gulp) almost sounded like you were a “Christian”. LOL

here is the bottom line: we are all going to have to put up with each other. and each others commetnts. Oh, and Mike has the final authority because it’s his red button.

But the conversation in the last couple of days sure has been lively. We seem to go through periods of low and high traffic. Sometimes there are posts with little commenting and other times they have incredible amount of traffic. I know Ron and Laura read these blogs so maybe he can throw in a “the spirit world is stirred up” in his next sermon to try and discredit his critics with the old “they can’t even get along with each other”. Ha Ha Ha Ha Haaa.

    So a priest a rabbi and a gorilla walk into a bar…….

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Well Jack, I am not nor will ever be a Christian. But like I said, my inherent moral sense compels me to be HONEST. I can see Yahweh using capital punishment against the Canaanites for their child sacrifice if Yahweh had existed. And the Psalms of David are actual song lyrics. You don’t have to believe in the Bible to believe in capital punishment or to be able to distinguish song lyrics from scripture. These are logic and common sense conclusions. And apologizing for (unintentionally) throwing a thread off is just good ol’ courtesy. It is a common misconception that atheists WANT the Bible to be false.

I have nothing against Christians per se until they start talking about the Bible like it’s veracity is an a priori fact. You know why people don’t react angrily to Hindus? Because they don’t walk around all day trying to tell you that Vishnu wants you to worship him, or that Lord Ganesh doesn’t approve of the music on your Ipod, or the Bhagavad Gita is literally the Word of God(s). When was the last time a Tibetan Buddhist picketed outside a US serviceman’s funeral with a sign saying “The Adi Buddha Hates Fags”? When was the last time Ronald Weinland gave a sermon entitled “Why We Should All Send Our Second Tithe to Japan to Help with the After-Effects of the Tsunami”?

    Just sayin’…

  • J says:

Sorry Avalo, there are lots of comments to read, and I haven’t read them all. I brought you up because you were mentioned in the post, that’s all. I’m just commenting based on what I’ve read. I meant no offense.

I hope in the future I say nothing that will get me lumped together with false prophets in your eyes. ;)

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Well J let me put it this way:

I would would die on a battlefield to defend your/Ronald Weinland’s right to believe in Jesus and God the Father. I would hide you and Ronald Weinland in my house if the world was filled with gangs of atheists running around looking for Christians to kill. If I were the last atheist on the planet, and I was sentenced by a Christian/Ronal;d Weinland-run court to be hung for my beliefs, I still would not lift a hand against any Christian/Ronald Weinland. But I really, really, really, really, really, HATE the Bible/Christian theology/the a priori assumption that it is true/and all subsidiary assumptions based on that principle assumption.

Here is a little test: Take your niece, daughter, granddaughter, friend’s daughter, and hold her in your arms. Cradle her and tell her you love her, stroking her hair, and give her a big loving hug. Now read Exodus 21:7 and try not to vomit. That is what I think of Ronald Weinland and the “Holy” book he believes in.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

But also let it be known that I am not against creeds like Christian Universalism or Jodo Shinshu Buddhism. I believe that they are both based on imaginary Gods (Yahweh and the Buddha Amida), but what a fantastic message. Christian Universalism denies damnation and posits Yahweh (as taught by a human, divinely inspired Christ) as saving everyone in the End. Doesn’t that sound nice? Everyone gets a shot at salvation since so many have never had the chance to understand any kind of liberating theology.

So what do we get? Ronald Weinland and Exodus 21:7

  • jack635 says:

Well I have never read much of the OT because I read in the NT “All who came before me are thieves and robbers” so I never bothered, except to look up something that was referenced. Ronald Weinland lives in the Old Testament and requires his followers to do so as well. Now I am sure that sometime in Jeremy’s life he disobeyed and cursed his father Ronald Weinland. Did Ron kill Jeremy? No! I remember reading in the old testament that a child that curses his father shall be put to death. I bet the kids were very obediant back then. So therefore Ron just picks and chooses which statutes and ordinances benefit him. He removes some because blah blah blah, but you can be damn sure he won’t be removing mandatory tithing, or anything that benefits him and his power over those who submit to him.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Yes indeed. We don’t have to slaughter lambs no mo’ but oh boy those tithes are REAL important!

But that is not Ron’s deal really. He just took that from Herbie W. Armstrong. Herbie even had third tithe to help the “widows”. Which in Herbie-Speak meant to wash the “windows” on his G-3 jet, fill his residence with fine art, gold, silver, Steuben (Steubing?) crystal, buy time (to talk about the weather) with world leaders and then later report that he had preached to them and such. It is actually one thing I really like about Ron. He isn’t even half the crook Armstrong was, and yet he “boldly” speaks forth like Herbie. I kind of get a kick out of his drama. The Economic Collapse!! The Return of CHRIST!!!!! What an amateur! LOL!

Comparing Herbert W. Armstrong to Ronald Weinland is like comparing a noble, soaring eagle to a picture of a sleeping chicken!!

  • matt says:

It would also be nice if we could tone down our religious points of view a bit. Strong atheism is likely to scare members or even ex-members away, as will strong Christianity of any particular flavor. We should think of that before we proselytize. For us it is just explaining our worldview. For others it is a subject that is very tender, and something that they have recently suffered quite a lot of fear and distress about. It would be poor taste indeed to get on our favorite hobby-horses, feeling safe and secure, forgetting the impact it can have on others.

After all, what do Ron’s methods really have to do with Christianity? It is just a guise he puts on to get himself the authority he craves. The carrot-and-stick tactics, the cult-speak, the demonizing of the world outside the cult, the punishing of dissent and the ruling-by-fear are not religious values. They are cultic values. They do not serve any religion, they serve the cult, and by extension, the interests of the cult leader.

If this wasn’t so and Ron really was a servant of any God, he would have humbled himself publicly and asked for guidance, explaining he had made a mistake and asking forgiveness from his followers and his God. Despite one prophecy after another falling flat, he never did any of this. This is because he does not serve God, but himself, and he justifies this to himself by making himself believe he is God’s representative on earth.

But this is not the core of his beliefs. It is the justification for serving himself, and making others do so as well.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Tone down our religious points? The Website is called “FALSE PROPHET RONALD WEINLAND”! LOL! No-one is being forced to view this site, neither will strong atheism scare them away. If anything, strong atheism posits the idea that you don’t have to run to or from God. I can’t imagine a less patronizing or more positive message than “God isn’t going to kill you for not loving him”.

If that gets people running from Ronald Weinland, then it is a lot better than not running at all.

  • Mike (DDTFA) says:

The Website is called “FALSE PROPHET RONALD WEINLAND”!

Not very subtle, am I? :-D

  • Chacha says:

THAT’s IT, Avalo…after your CHICKEN comment, I’m DONE! What have got against chickens sleeping? Chickens need sleep too y’know.

Oh…wait…did I just twist and distort what you said?

    My bad. LOL.

I understand what I am doing here…I read quite a bit of the posts to see what’s up. I was a little worried when I 1st posted that I would get jumped on, but was grateful and relieved to have the opposite. I am STILL not sure where I am going…not sure that I will leave…not sure that I will stay (in PKG) but I needed to get some things off my chest, which I cannot do anywhere else…(I know…that should tell me something…baby steps….)

Maybe I will be told in this weeks sermon to “just go and not let the door hit me in the butt!”

    Stay tuned kids…

warm hugs and gratitude to you all.
    peace

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Well Cha-cha. There is nothing wrong with baby steps towards peace of mind, good emotional health, and freedom of thought. Remember that IF or WHEN you need to speak your mind or talk to someone, we are here, and you are free to be whoever you want to be.

Just remember: None of Ron’s predictions and prophecies have come true, he has cursed Mike (DDTFA) to DEATH, and lied in the media about his behaviour. You are putting your spiritual and financial trust in this man. Buyer beware…

  • Mike (DDTFA) says:

Actually, Ron has issued his death curse against anyone who mocks and criticizes him. There are quite a few people who qualify, I think I’d just be near the head of his list.

  • matt says:

But the question of Rons false prophethood is independent from the validity of religion. Even if there is a god, it certainly is not him that Ron is talking to in his head!

    So why proselytize?

  • Red says:

Rush- Freewill….one of my favorite songs to play on my guitar and lyrics that kinda relate to some of these topics.

  • Chacha says:

    NICE!

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Oh Red! You just played your get out of jail free card. I LOVE RUSH!!!!!!! I have seen every tour since Hemispheres (1978)! You, Red, have great taste in music, and must be extemely good looking, highly intelligent, and popular with the ladies, as all people who listen to RUSH are. I should know. It has been proven conclusively in the imaginary scientific journals I just made up in my head! :)

    RUSH RULES!!!!!!!!

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

“We will pay the price, but we will not count the cost…”

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ka_oevW2sc

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

And I would like to dedicate this RUSH song to Ronald Weinland, the False Prophet who feels he “knows what’s best for us” and “must rise and save us from ourselves”.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MWzDKE4zbY

  • Kirrily Xpkg says:

Firstly, thanks all for your well wishes :)

Secondly, I have had contact with Mike well before I ever posted on this blog, and continue to do so. Mike has known of my pregnancy since I was 7 weeks pregnant. For whatever reason, perhaps knowing that Ronnie and the wench read this blog, I felt it was too special to share with those in the world who do not wish me well. Ron, just go back to creating your bathtime tsunamis – the only force of destruction you will create. Killed your rubber ducky yet?

I have never felt pulled in either way on this blog in terms of people trying to convince me of any type of belief.

I do however feel offended at comments like:-

“PKG members should read the bible for themselves”

We did. I never read or felt I understood the Word more when I was in Armstrongism. Everything suddenly made sense, and I couldn’t put it down. We read the bible alright, on our own, not being ‘led’.

“Just because Ron is wrong doesnt mean you should then reject God”

Well, why not? In my case, I have ‘searched’ for ‘The Truth’ (narrow is the path, and FEW find it). Thought I had FINALLY found it in Armstrongism – but no lie (ie. false prophecy, BI for eg) can be of the truth (according to the bible).

So many religions, so many variations – that effing Bible can be interpreted in COUNTLESS ways. So if the true path is narrow and hardly anyone finds it – what a prick of a God!

So many religions don’t believe in this narrow path – “Just call on Jesus and you WILL be saved” – convenient use of scripture there – again, a book full of contradictions.

God and religion have proven nothing but torment, war, and hatred in this world. When was the last time you heard of a bunch of athiests burning people alive because of their belief? It’s offensive to me that it is assumed just because Ron was wrong, is the reason I no longer believe in any Christian (or wordly) view of God.

‘God’ isn’t calling anyone or making anything clear, nor revealing himself. If he is trying to, he is a pretty piss weak excuse for a deity. Satan is made out to be oh so much stronger.

My point in all this – is whether you are a Christian or an Athiest contributing to this blog, we ALL have a REASON which is well thought out and taken seriously, for what we believe. Neither is wrong or right – except only to ourselves.

Both sides have treated me with warmth and love on this blog, and although we have great debates from time to time, the underlying issue is Rons false prophecies, and the damage HE is causing.

  • Kirrily Xpkg says:

I completely agree with Jacks comment in the post. I know a lot of here have had our own journey in escaping cults (it took me months to even agree that I was in one in PKG).

I think initially after leaving, I was looking for a replacement (maybe another splinter to join) – but I am so happy that I had a break from it all. My mother on the other hand joined another splinter pretty much straight away, and another x member of PKG still believes, but last I heard doesn’t attend anywhere.

It’s different for all of us. Chacha may react totally differently to me IF she does end up leaving. And leaving is hard.

People say you can’t blame God for joining a cult – well I can, apparently he wrote the Bible – which after reading gave me the beliefs that I had – including the Duet scripture proving Ron to be false – so if I understood incorrectly (after being involve in a myriad of religions with differing beliefs which ALL resulted from the Bible), then maybe God could have written in better without all the contradictions.

People have quoted many scriptures on this blog trying to prove a point. Problem is, other scriptures can contradict those. It goes on and on.

So if God never changes, then why have the New Testament where EVERYTHING changed? (To Spiritual not Physical for just one example).

It’s pointless to debate religion – there is NO answer. We just believe what we believe (again, all with good reason). Discussion is good though, as you can see other points of view perhaps previously not considered.

  • J says:

Hi Kirrily, congratulations about your happy news. Shortly after you starting commenting here, I commented that the general feeling of PKG members was that they put their lives on hold – they don’t make major decisions like getting pets, going on vacations or having children, to which you agreed. PKG members stop being proactive in their lives and just live idly. What a joy to be free of that dark cloud over your head, huh? :)

  • Kirrily Xpkg says:

I certainly remember that J – you are so right, it’s taken a lot of time, but to be free of that is just so wonderful. My life is in colour once again. And I haven’t missed the opportunity to bring a precious life into the world. Thanks J :)

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

As my Lord and Saviour Kirrily, I humbly come before your throne and thank you for this wonderful day, thanking you for the opportunity to know truth and be free in spirit to follow your ways. For in thy mercy you have offered me salvation and true peace in your VBs, and I pray that you would continue to bless and sustain me as I continue to seek your guidance and forgiveness. Amen!

And now a hymn, showing us what great guidance and wisdom Kirrily has offered us if we seek Her ways. So let’s turn to Hymn #36, and sing “I’m Free”.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yljbcRu3tiU

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

And now brethren, let us turn to Hymn #106, which offers us Kirrily’s hope and comfort when we face persecution through the acts and words of the Weinland-Christ. Let us pray that that his followers are freed form their deception and are able to see the fruits of Kirrily’s love and peace, and one day join us in singing this joyful hymn.

    Hymn #106: “Won’t Get Fooled Again”…

  • Kirrily Xpkg says:

Don’t forget to collect the tithes whilst you baske in my glorious light Ava! And where the $&@# is my cape!!

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

And finally brethren, as our closing hymn, let’s celebrate Kirrily’s love with our hearts and minds, and praise Her through the gift of dance that she has bestowed upon the world. For the elderly, infirmed, disabled or those who are not able to participate in this manner for any reason, join us in praising our Lord Kirrily in a manner you feel is safe and comfortable, as Kirrily is pleased with all sincere efforts to do what is right and good.

This dancing hymn, #36, celebrates the joy of living according to Kirrily’s plan for mankind, and the rich fruits we reap from it when we sow righteousness and truth.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

My Lord, we thank thee that in thy mercy you have asked of us a cape so that we may be pleasing in thy sight. Guide us Kirrily as we seek to offer you an unblemished garment to magnify and laud thy Holy Name.

    For Kirrily –

    Breathe, breathe in the air
    Don’t be afraid to care
    Leave, but don’t leave ME
    Look around
    Choose your own ground

Long you live and high you fly
And smiles you’ll give and tears you’ll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be

Last half of the song, for Ron —

    Run, rabbit run
Dig that hole, forget the sun
And when at last the work is done
    Don’t sit down
It’s time to dig another one

For long you live and high you fly
But only if you ride the tide
And balanced on the biggest wave
You race towards an early grave

BTW Mike and Red: I absolutely worship Pink Floyd and RUSH. Huge fan of both bands. Hopefully God will let me listen to ‘Floyd for a few minutes before the sodomy demons hump my ears to deafness…

Pride of the false prophet calling everyone else prideful. Val, you are a joke. Wake up to yourself, you have children and grandchildren. You are delusional and need help.

Yeah yeah, we all call Gods prophets ‘crazy’ is what makes you feel better. We already know Ron is false, just as we know you too are false.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

VAL is a librarian who thinks she is a prophet of God. Her blog states: “I am not crazy, however then again aren’t all of God’s prophets considered crazy?”

And you folks wonder why I am an atheist…

  • Atrocious says:

No, Avalo, I don’t wonder why you are an atheist. But I do wonder how a woman can call herself a prophet without being delusional. A relative of mine considers herself to be a prophetess, although every prediction she has made has been false. It boggles the mind. Wow…surreal. And, here she comes on THIS blog to claim her divine anointing. It gotta be a joke.

  • Atrocious says:

“And, here she comes on THIS blog to claim her divine anointing. It gotta be a joke.”

I meant Val, not my relative. :)

  • jack635 says:

First if was Mal and now it is Val

God raised me up from the brethren of the United Church of God and because these my brethren would not
    hear me

So if a COG rejected you what makes you think anyone here is going to listen to more false preaching. That little bit you just preached is the same style that any false preacher uses.

Jesus (the true word) is now delivered to the world

Sorry VAL, Jesus was alreadydelivered to the world two thousand years ago, according to the book you profess to know so much about. I’m not going to waste my time clicking on your link. I understand exactly what will be there by what you just wrote. I bet it is pages and volumes of the same thing you just posted. Sorry, I don’t bet, I know it is exactly that. If you want to spend so much time reading the Bible, why not pick one of the four gospels and read it over and over. If one book about Jesus does not make sense, why do you think reading 66 books will make sense to you?

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

    Ummm, Val?

I read Hebrew and that line in Jeremiah (31:22) is not referring to you…Teshobeb means to RETURN , not “Tesobeb”, to COMPASS. The line is ” a woman will return to her husband”.

If you are going to be a prophetess, you’d better do your homework.

  • jack635 says:

Okay guys, you’re playing a joke on me right? One of you posted that as a joke. Well if it was a joke, you fooled me. Otherwise my previous comment stands. Where is the wisdom of posting something like that on a blog like this?

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

And (Acts 3:23) “every soul, which will not hear that prophet shall be destroyed from among the people”.

Why is it that God, prophets, and prophetesses love murder so much? You state the above in your post, thus you are preaching that God wants my daughters to die. They are children. Thus you and your God are calling for the death of my wife and children.

Do you think I am going to react positively to that?

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Jack: I doubt it is a joke. She has a blog and a book. I checked it out. If it is a joke then the person has gone to a lot of trouble to set it up.

  • jack635 says:

AAAWW. Why am I doing this? slaps forehead CLICK

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

and Val: what about the woman named Kirrily who posts here on the blog? She is now pregnant and looking forward to her first child. I ask you Val the Prophetess: Should Kirrily get an abortion to save this life from God’s wrath? Either way, this child would have to die if we believe you.

Are you ready to take responsibility for the death off my children and Kirrily’s unborn baby?

I request you and Ronald Weinland answer that. What do you and God say about that?

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Don’t give up Jack635! It may all be a big, tasteless joke, but I am taking a stand for Kirrily, my kids, your kids, Atrocious’s grandchildren, and children in general.

There is objective morality without God, and I am standing up for it. God shouldn’t kill my or Mal’s or any person’s children.

  • Kirrily Xpkg says:

Maybe Val came here to increase her income with possibility of new members. I would think if there is a God, that it would be up to God to reveal his true prophet. Ron, Val and the like do it in their own power (lurking in others blogs, writing books, google advertising etc) – these people must think their God is pretty weak!

  • jack635 says:

Okay I’m back. I knew I should not have clicked that link. I’m not reading any of that crap. The menu bar has three tabs. One entitled EVIDENCE/ABOUT ME. If she has to post written evidence that she is a prophet, then she’s not. Let’s see her heal the sick, raise the dead, walk on water, and do greater things that Jesus did. That’s real evidence Val, not the phoney made up evidence that is probably on your blog. Which I won’t even go to again.

  • jack635 says:

Maybe Val came here to increase her income with possibility of new members

Yeah, she must have found out the entire COG leadership are a bunch of con artists who became con artists once they realized Herbie was an Ad Man and pulled in some serious coin pretending to be someone he was not. Now she wants a piece of the pie.

  • jack635 says:

And I thought Ron was pushing the envelope on “way out there”. If Val has followers who believe her crap, they will truly give all and even worse.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Here are some nuggets of wisdom from Val’s other blog:

“It’s because I delivered the true word John 1:1 to the world restoring all things Matt 17:11-12. Those that can hear Acts 3:23 this true word will no longer believe in murder and hate (Satan) as their God.”

AND YET she stated in her post that Acts 3:23 means “it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet shall be destroyed from among the people.” as well.So God will lead people to not believe in murder AND YET those who do not believe in God will be murdered…

Sounds like Ronald Weinland’s kind of stuff. I’ll bet “Val” is Laura Weinland practicing for her turn when Ron doesn’t pan out. When Ron is wrong it will be revealed that Laura is now the new Speaking Witness and people will follow her for the next few years, according to “God’s amazing mercy and revelation”.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

And besides, Val, you are not a “Prophet”. You are a type of Apostle at best. Where are your prophecies? Your scriptural support so far has been to justify yourself as the True Messenger of God. But you haven’t prophesied.

Tell us please: When will Christ return, and what is your role in his return?

  • Atrocious says:

By the way…if she is a prophetess, what the @#$% is her name? All we know her by is “Val” and I didn’t see it on that section of her blog (that Jack mentioned). That’s all I read, by the way. No name, no fame. Heh. What a crock.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Here is the scoop folks: I went to look at the book and it is a rambling mess of unrelated scriptures “by Val”. She doesn’t even give a name. Some prophetess.

Her thesis is that she is a/the True Prophetess because the Bible “says” that “One woman delivers the True Word (John 1:1, Rev 12:5, Rev 12:13) that restores all things to the Word (Acts 3:21) before Christ comes. But NONE of these scriptures has ANY to do with her claim. They don;t even come CLOSE to being anything she could use to make that claim. One woman delivers the True Word being supported by “In the Beginning was the Word…”?

Val, you are the poster child for the New Atheism, thank you for blogging…

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Oh and one more thing Val:

    why doesn’t God heal amputees?

  • Kirrily Xpkg says:

Meanwhile in Imagineation Land, The Cult of Cartman is gaining in popularity…..

Ava, we must start to make a list of my competition – once my Cape arrives, I will begin to issue death curses…..mwaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

  • jack635 says:

When Ron is wrong it will be revealed that Laura is now the new Speaking Witness

    *shudder*

And from what you guys have said, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was one of Landover Baptist’s sites.

  • jack635 says:

[Sorry folks, can't be here all the time to filter out nonsense like this immediately. Alternative would be to hold all comments for moderation, but would rather not do that.]

That’s perfectly understandable, Mike. But it was a brief interlude of entertainment which I found very funny, and I did laugh merrily.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

And I will close the book of atheism and remain peaceful and quiet until we have had a ruling! LOL!

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

But before I do I would just like to quote Glenn Beck today, who called Hurricane Irene a blessing from God: “This hurricane is a blessing. It is a blessing. It is God reminding you — as was the earthquake last week — it’s God reminding you you’re not in control”. Nine PEOPLE were KILLED so far in Hurricane Irene.

Why is God so eager to KILL nine people in order to bless everyone?

  • Mike (DDTFA) says:

Given that quite a discussion has followed Val’s comments, I’m going to post the links part of her comment for those who may have missed the fun.

His true word is now delivered and is going to the whole world without respect of persons at the heel of time as a witness at http://thegoodtale.wordpress.com and at http://thegoodtale.blogspot.com .
I invite you read all the posts of truth before you judge it. Jesus (the true word) is now delivered to the world Rev 12:5, Rev 12:13.

Avalo, Val has comments enabled on her WordPress blog. Why not ask her the question directly?

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

I just went there and posted the comment: “When will Christ return, and how do current events play a part in his Return?” But her blog stated that my post would be posted pending approval! So it looks like truly free speech is not allowed until she likes the speech.

    Just like Ronald Weinland…

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

In the meantime here is another little nugget of wisdom from Val:

“When all those full of the Holy Spirit speak the words and power of the testimony of Jesus Christ delivered on this website, the devil will then know his time is short.”

    LOL!

  • martin ortiz says:

It sure would be nice if Ronald Weinland decided to dry up the heavens, to help the NE coast line during this hurricane.

I’m not going to hold my breath for it though.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

I just asked Val what her policy on those who mock here is…once again another “All comments will posted after approval”.

Maybe she can help the people on the East Coast with the Hurricane. Glenn Beck thinks it is a blessing from God (it killed nine people). I wonder what Ron and Val think?

  • jack635 says:

Glen Beck thinks it’s a blessing, Ron thinks it’s a thunder, other “prophets” think it’s a curse of punishment.

Ya’ll know me, you know what I do for a living(in the voice of Quint from Jaws).

I think it’s a hurricane, made from Sahara Desert Dust and hot air blown across the ocean.

  • Steve says:

Christians are just like muslims…give them enough power, the so called “moderate” believers will soon be dragging you out of your house to stone you and reduce the nations population by about 90% because most of us are breakin their so called “holy” laws. Trust none of them, especially ones who call themselves prophets as they are the ones that influence the moderates to do it.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Well Steve? It looks you and I have something in common. A – shall we say – less than positive view of Christianity.

Notice how the Holy laws contain a lot of killing and slavery? If you are a Christian – any kind – people must die to prove you are right. If you are an atheist, no one has to die, for any reason.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

And here is a nice little tune that describes my feelings toward Ronald Weinland, who calls for the destruction of all those who don;t believe him. That means my young daughters, my wife, and all those that you love too Steve. Isn’t Ron a nice guy? He wants yours and my grandmothers dead…

  • Chacha says:

Wow…go away for a few hours and…a plague of “profits” invade the blog?

Avalo..and everyone else who who care to…shall we?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7movKfyTBII&ob=av2e

  • Kirrily Xpkg says:

    Great song Chacha!

  • Mark says:

This is the most commented on post in over a year and it happens to be about a Christian believer being scorned for holding to his convictions. Hmm. Even commenting on OTHER blogs the person must be chastised publicly on this blog. That’s interesting.

I am happy that you can post freely and Avalo continues to have diarrhea of the mouth on every reply. It makes for some very one-sided, yet uninteresting reading.

And Avalo, your Buddha (pseudonym name) isn’t worshiped in many parts of Asia. Are you a Mahayana or Theravada Buddhist or just a pretender? You wear the name of a Buddhist “enlightened one” but what makes this person enlightened? Tell me how this “enlightened” one has had a previous existence? In fact, they make you put fruit and incense in a small “temple” house in order to feed their gods to keep the evil spirits from occupying the entire house. Avalo uses the name of one these gods. Buddhism is nonsense and can’t be proven.

  • Mike (DDTFA) says:

Very interesting Mark. That this comment thread was all about you when a simple text search shows the first mention of your name … when? That the post itself, which did mention your name, was an attack on you. I’ll leave your comment alone as a testament to itself, even though it’s an attack an Avalo. Let’s even up the score a bit.

Avalo, if you respond then please limit yourself to this statement by Mark: “Buddhism is nonsense and can’t be proven.”

  • Mark says:

I wasn’t talking about the comments, but your post. I never said the comments were about me.

“I just have to wonder how secure you are in your thinking if someone else expressing a different opinion upsets you.”

Honestly, the same can be asked of you.

And yes, I do my own thinking and don’t need anyone to do it for me.

  • Mike (DDTFA) says:

Well Mark, I guess you’re correct. You have upset me,. Laughing is being upset, right? I mean, it is a change from my normal tranquil mood. So yeah.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

    Mark:

    1. I have “diarrhea of the mouth”? LOL! I was describing the Bible. So in that sense you are absolutely right.

    2. Avalokiteshvara is obviously a Mahayana deity as Theravada denies Mahayana doctrine. Why would you even need to ask if you are so wise as to know Buddhism is nonsense?

    3. Avalokiteshvara is a bodhisattva, a Buddhist saint to chooses NOT to gain enlightenment (fully) until all other sentient beings are saved (which is one of the lines of Bodhisattvan Vow). So once again you have not done your homework.

    4. My using Avalokiteshvara as a tag is a joke! I am an atheist and not a Buddhist at all. That’s what ‘atheism’ means. The fact that you didn;t catch that once again shows your lack of understanding of Buddhism.

    5. Who are the “they” that put food in front of Avalokiteshvara? Avalokiteshvara is offered flowers, not food. And he (in China “she”) is not a protective deity. If you don;t know who “they” are, you porbably don;t know what you are talking about.

    6. Avalokiteshvara is not a GOD. He is a Bodhisattva, a divine being who ranks way lower than a “God”. Beisdes there are many competing doctrines on Avalokiteshvara. Not every Buddhist believes Avalokiteshvara exists. And he/she has many names and images. One version has eleven heads, another has 1000 arms, etc.

    7. If you had actually read any of my last 10 posts you would know that I have defended certain parts of Christianity in many of them!

Oh Mark, you are such an easy target!

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Oh I forgot to add one thing Mark:

    8. Apart from the great art, I think Buddhism is nonsense too! Though I still do Soto Zen meditation practice and identify with it, I don;t believe in ANY of its dogma.

You and I actually agree on something!

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Oh and one more thing again:

    9. “. Pseudonym means ‘fake name’. There is no such thing as “pseudonym name”! It is like saying “I am going to my bedroom room!”

Thank you for posting Mark. Anytime you want to get pwned again, let me know.

  • Mark says:

” I think Buddhism is nonsense too!”

Great! So we agree that nonsense breeds nonsense.

I’m glad that my commenting here breeds laughter from the blog owner.

You and Avalo have fun now, you hear?

P.S. Ron Weinland, if you are reading this, I am sure you are laughing too.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Interesting. You can’t even respond to my dissection of your comments! Notice folks how Mark has to attack me personally because he can’t actually defend anything he says?

“Nonsense breeds nonsense” and “diarrhea mouth”. That is known as an ad hominem attack. When someone can’t defend their position they attack the person who says it. For example “Edward’s argument is incorrect because he is evil”, or “How would mary know anything about physics? she’s just a woman”.

The ad hominem attack is the classic response of the cowards and those without education.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

And English isn’t even my first language. Two extra points for me!

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

MARK also stated a non-sequitur (which in Latin mans ‘it does not follow’). He assumed that because I use the tag Avalokiteshvara that I must be Buddhist and believe in Buddhism. Common sense tells you that If I use a Buddhist tag then repeated call myself an atheist, there is no reason to believe I believe in Buddhism.

Mark also used a Straw Man fallacy, which is to misrepresent an opponent’s position then try and get them to defend that position, thus sidetracking the argument. For example, he starts his post criticizing Mike (DDTFA) for letting me post and then accuses me of being boring. Then for no reason he starts criticizing my use of the tag ‘Avalokiteshvara’, which has nothing to do with his original point. It is a mild ad hominem attack because he seems to be saying that I am not being truthful about something since he asks me if I am a “pretender” for using the name of a Buddhist saint. Then to top it off he says Buddhism is nonsense and can’t be proven!

He does not even explain what he means by “proven”. The ‘original’ Buddhism (which predates Theravada) posited no Gods, and no account of an afterlife. That was added much much later after two famous doctrinal schisms. So if he is talking about the words of the Buddha, the original Buddhism, then he reveals just how totally uneducated he is about Buddhism. No one who knows anything about Buddhism would ever try to prove divinity within it until the first proto-Madhyamika and Mahayana School doctrines began to be espoused. So he didn’t even clarify what Buddhism he is talking about neither did he even need to state it.

This kind of thinking is typical of Ronald Weinland too. He is always assuming the answer in every question or statement he makes (which is another kind of fallacy). For example, he will say things like “My mockers will die” which assumes that he indeed is a Witness with that kind of power, which he HASN’T PROVEN.

I heard Bill O’Reilly ask George Bush one time why Liberals hate him so much. Reilly makes the assumption that “all” Liberals hated him (which wasn’t true), and that all of them “hate” him. There could be Liberals that merely dislike him, or Liberals that don;t really care that much.

That’s how this all works folks…

  • Atrocious says:

You know why I took the tag “Atrocious”? Because everything Ron says is atrocious.

  • Mark says:

Theravada Buddhism is a better way than Mahayana Buddhism.
Skinny Buddha shows more asceticism than fat Buddha.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Skinny Buddha is the “real” Buddha image. The “fat” Buddha is not “Buddha”. He is Hotei, a Chinese God of Fortune who was included into the Buddhist pantheon when Buddhism came to China and became syncretized. The reason he is assumed to be a Buddha by most is the fact that Hotei has fat earlobes, a symbol of his prosperity. His earlobes resemble the long, stretched out lobes of the Buddha, which became that way from the heavy, jewel encrusted earrings he wore when he was Prince Siddartha.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

…And how is Theravad a better way? Mahayana automatically has more ascetics than Theravada, which has none because they are a scriptural school, not a meditation or hermetic school. And the “fat Buddha” isn;t even a Mahayana Buddha anyway.

Once again a non-sequitur. It does not follow that asceticism makes Buddhism better, The “Skinny Buddha” image is produced in sculpture, showing Siddartha in the asceticism period that he REJECTED before becoming the Buddha and espousing the ‘Middle” Way.

I’m curious. Where do you get your “knowledge” of Buddhism from?

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

…and why did you not bother to mention that Theravadan monks are OBLIGED to eat whatever food is offered to them as alms, thus they are NOT vegetarians like other Buddhist ascetics. A Theravadan “ascetic” wouldn’t avoid meat, even though it is derived from killing an animal.

I truly am curious to know where you get your ideas about Buddhism from…

  • Kirrily Xpkg says:

I have a soft spot for Mark – he has always been so nice and uplifting to me here, as all of you have been. I will always appreciate Marks kind words to me. Its interesting reading this exchange, I don’t know anything about Buddhism!

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Well Kirrily. Being uninformed about Buddhism is no sin. And is it any surprise that I would know something about Buddhism with a name like Avalokiteshvara, the Saint of Compassion who was/is the embodiment of the compassion of all Buddhas?! With all that knowledge you’d think I would use the name Manjusri (look it up!).

You might like reading Steven Collins’ “Selfless Persons: Imagery and Thought in Theravada Buddhism.”, or David Kalupahana’s “A History of Buddhist Philosophy: Continuities and Discontinuities.” Bibhuti Baruah’s “Buddhist Sects and Sectarianism.” is also really good too. These books are pretty technical and academic though, and might be kind of tricky to read if you are not into that sort of thing. If you are interested in getting a general overview you can always look around Wikipedia and follow the various links to Buddhist subjects.

  • Red says:

Avalo, (I almost googled your name but no need to now) you sound very educated to me and direct on your points. You seem to have ALOT of knowledge on theology. Curious, what was your first language if you don’t mind me asking,.(..and I bet that Hemisheres tour was awesome.)

  • Red says:

,…I would also enjoy your perspective on the universe, it’s beginning(s), humans and death.

  • Kirrily Xpkg says:

It didn’t even twig to me about your name having anything to do with Buddism! I had wondered what it meant though.

I’m not really interested in any sort of belief system ATM. Too busy reading pregnancy and parenthood books! Starting to get a belly now! :)

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

Red: I am a native German speaker. Germany has produced most of the major philosophers in history, so I like to think that I stand on the shoulders of my giant intellectual ancestors. Thus I was raised to love reading and thinking about philosophy. I certainly am not a genius, but I have had the luxury and privilege of getting a world class education in the best schools, so that helps too.

Philosophy, to me, is a thrilling wild adventure through the history of the human mind. I mean, think of the first time a human being used a logical inference (syllogism). All humans are mortal, and all men are humans, so therefore all men are mortal. It is a simple thing, but when it is applied in its more complex forms, you can dissect complicated ideas and statements easily and find out just how true anything anyone says.

  • Avalokiteshvara says:

And as for my perspective on the universe, it’s beginning(s), humans and death: here is the sum of all my knowledge on each subject. I have no idea, and personally don’t think I am smart enough to ever really know for sure or even form a coherent opinon! LOL!

BUT…a book about a talking snake vs. an electron microscope. Which do you think is going to tell you more Truth?

  • Mike (DDTFA) says:

But then you’re smart enough to know that.

  • Red says:

I appreciate that Avalo. My question was personal and off topic so thanks.

  • Mark says:

    Moved to a new post.

  • Mike (DDTFA) says:

Since Mark thinks this post was all about him, I’m going to let him end it. The numerous logical failings must exist, because Mark said they do and the example Mark cited must exist somewhere else because I couldn’t find it here.

So Mark gets the last word. Locking comments.

On second thought, I decided to copy it to a new thread and let them have it out.
