Weinland’s Capricious God

False Prophet Ronald Weinland was in Cincinnati this weekend for, as Jack puts it, the annual excuse fast.  According to Ron, last year’s two-day fast was a historic event to be long remembered, as it induced God to show mercy by delaying the tribulation.  That’s his story and he’s sticking to it, with no mention of the prayed-for death and destruction that was to occur from an increase of the thunders.

Thunders which he now states are not his, and were put in the book to give people a hard time, to trip, to find fault, to stumble where they will.  But on page 111 of “2008 God’s Final Witness” Ron wrote “These thunders are largely a matter of my own choosing, which God has given to me since I am His spokesman and the one who will stand before Him to the whole world during this end-time…. All Seven Thunders are given as God’s proof that I am His end-time prophet.”  Ron insisted that everything in his book would happen, but the timing had changed.  But on page 4, he stated “The proof of the validity of my first book, and now this one, is in the timing and the destruction that follows, exactly as both books describe.”  So now the thunders are not his, but God’s and were given to trip up a few critics? Does anyone see the irony in the following statement from Ron’s sermon? “I can’t tell you how much I loathe and I hate the spirit of justification.” Dill Weed has lot’s more to say about this.

Several minutes before the end of the sermon, Ron went on a rant about the hypocrisy of government, exploiting young men sent off to war.  The rant morphed to “And this government is sick in those things.  They’d like to shut my mouth.  And they’re working hard on it.  They only do what God gives them to do.  And they’re going to hear that a whole lot more as we go forward when God gives greater power.” Sounds to me like the IRS criminal investigation is not going well from Ron’s point of view.  So 60 weeks into the Great Tribulation and he still doesn’t have his Witness powers? Hmmm.  Hopefully what God gave the IRS to do will shut him up.

Ron’s rant continued on, switching to his critics.  He addressed us directly, asking what we wanted to save for “the new age” that we don’t believe is coming, but hypothetically speaking.  For myself, a utopian millennium would NOT include prideful, self-justifying false prophets who exploit those silly enough to follow them.  He continued on, accusing his critics of twisting and distorting and stirring up dirt and mud.  Ron, if you think I’m twisting and distorting, be specific — what exactly?  As far as the “stirring up dirt and mud” bit, I think he’s just trying to establish a defense for his followers who find out about the well documented existence of the IRS criminal investigation.  Or perhaps what set Ron off was my pointing out that he is the Son of Perdition.

Weinland ended his sermon and rant with a promise that his critics are about to learn a harsh lesson.  Ron, is “about to” any sooner than my quick death from the inside you cursed me with 59 weeks ago?

It doesn’t take a psychologist to see how Ron rants at others while working through his own stuff. He is projecting his own failures onto others. It was obvious in his rant on “I hate those that justify (I’d say explain) themselves.” Justifying himself is now becoming a full time job for him. Play any of his sermons or give his book to any competent psychologist and see what they say.

Ron will announce his new title next week. First he was and Elder, then Pastor, then Evangelist, then Chief of Two Witnesses, Then Apostle, then Elijah to come…and finally he will announce ……..”I’mmmmm Batman!”

  • JB says:

You just know that when the IRS closes in on poor Ron completely that he will turn it around to ” they are only doing God’s will, God whispered in my ear that this would happen”. He will tell his little flock to REPENT, REPENT and send money so I don’t have to go to jail ( or flee the country ).

The last 5 minutes of the last sermon with a bit of explanatory background should be enough.

Wow, this is getting juicy. I just got an iPhone and typing this message from
it. I wonder if he will have a tirade against them next. After all, I can now stay up to date on facebook, and also these blogs much easier.

“Weinland ended his sermon and rant with a promise that his critics are about to learn a harsh lesson”
Does that mean he is about to send forth his army of manchurian candidates as God is failing to do his part?
Just kiddin as ronny is a gutless wonder as they say in aussie land…..but i never rule out anythin in this crazy world :>)

  • GD says:

weinland will never quit his lies -just keep making up new ones for his idiots that believe him-he does not care as long as the tithes keep rolling in for his luxury lifestyle .
how many men of God put their lifestyles before anyone else ? He will eventually be punished for his evil deeds and heresy -but too late for those people who,s lives he has destroyed .

I understand Ron is going to be on WKRP, Cincinnati…get it, KRaP….oh, ok…nevermind… 🙂 That was “amazing”, just “incredible”, and I just hate justifiers…… Ron ranted about lack of love for humankind and that murderers will have short trials and be put down fast. I wonder if he forgets that as Two Witness, murder will kinda be a hobby for them for three and half years. He’s whacked..

Now the “thunders” are not real but Gods way of adding trip hazards to the journey to salvation?
Ok, out with the thunders as a “proof” and in with the “government is bad” discussions. Join the club Ron, any yokel with a 1000 word vocabulary can rail against the government…

Now how many of Ron’s sheeples are still a-following? They can listen to this statement by Ron of Non-Thunder-Idess, the very same hard written thunders that Ron was oh so proud of his own creativity, and still mentally allow Ron the mental room to disregard his own written failures?
Well I guess they can as they have already forgiven him the “prophet” and “witness” titles he gave himself and has now downplayed as they have lost traction.
Ron lives in mental wonderland of his own making? So do his sheeples.
The mind can be a terrible place to live if your gonna ignore the reality that your senses precieve and make up your own.

    Go figure?

  • Whisper says:

ah… where in the seman pod-cast is the statement by the Ronster that the thunders are no longer his creation, but God’s lies to mankind to trip them up anywho?

  • Whisper says:

    uh… that’s “SERMAN” and ah not… well I think you understand. 🙂

  • Atrocious says:

Actually, Whisper, it’s SERMON, but I liked seman better. 😀

Seriously, though, I feel that Ron is dangerous. He’s a psychotic, delusional, power-wannabe hypocrite. I can’t imagine why anyone would listen to this lunatic. Incredible.

  • RK says:

    Absolutely right, Atrocious.

When I think about the future of Ron’s church, I cringe.

It’s been said before, but no harm repeating: That is, when Pentecost 2012 rolls around, or probably before then, some will finally start to wake up to Ron’s con game. And needless to say, there’s going to be some POed members.

The combination of those POed members, along with Ron’s crazinesss, is going to make for a very dangerous situation, IMO.

  • Whisper says:

    Atrocious.

Correct, listening to Ron is dangerous to some and just plain boring to me.
But, I was interested in him actually stating that the thunders where not really supposed to happen but only put in Ron’s book and talks as a “trip wire” by God to those whom Ron thinks needs to be triped up.
After all the hype and talk by Ron (ad-nauseum) about his “Thunders” it is ludicrous to hear him state that they were not really good doctrine but rather a speed bump for the un-faithful in the flock.
    Amazing.
I have actually listend to zero of Rons full sermons. Once I got as far as 9 minutes into one before it hit 100% dull on my dull-o-meter guage.
    Guess I’m a glutton for abuse…
    🙂

  • Kirrily XPKG says:

It seems the mentality of Ron’s group, and probably, COG’s in general, EVERYTHING that goes ‘wrong’ is the MEMBERS fault. ie. lack of faith, sin in your life, not a correct relationship with God etc etc, and on and on.

When the first timeline came and went, Ron told us to have a good hard long look at OURSELVES to see how we dealt with the TEST.

I guess the ‘tests’ are still continuing, to weed out the unfaithful.

Ron’s God is a gameplayer….. bored up there in heaven ‘testing’ his ‘church’ by making up stories to rival the Bold and the Beautiful, just to see what we do.

In fact, I think that Ron’s God is the writer of South Park – the episode where the boys find out that in fact Aliens put creatures from all other planets onto Earth, just to see what we would do, and at the same time film us – oh what a Reality TV Show we make.

  • Atrocious says:

Even a good fiction book has a solid plot. Ron doesn’t even have a plot…just ramblings. And yes, it’s always the members fault for “not getting it”, “not hearing right” because Ron “made himself perfectly clear”. He doesn’t even make himself perfectly clear to himself because he can’t remember his lies long enough to enhance them. He just negates one lie with another lie, etc. I have only gotten maybe a minute into a sermon of his and my stomach actually started doing flip flops with nausea. He literally makes me sick. I just hope that the people that sit in those chairs and listen to his drivel will wise up and realize that they are listening to a very sick man, a dangerous man.

  • Dennis says:

I will be in Tyler Texas the weekend of the 19th -21st to debate Art Mokarrow (Former WCG minister and now with his own church thing) on Bible errancy, background and the NT Church. He invited me and is paying. I’ll be attending church (just cause I can) for first time in 12 years. Perhaps Ron will invite me next. 🙂

  • Mike (DDTFA) says:

Lots of good comments, let me respond to a few.

The bit about the thunders being a fake by God to make people stumble at 1:17 into the file available for download this week. Next week after the announcements are redacted will be a few minutes earlier. (See Dill Weed’s post for a transcript and more commentary.)

Whisper, if you made it through 9 minutes of typical sermon filler, you might make it through the last 6 minutes of the sermon where Ron rants on the government and his critics.

Dennis, Ron won’t invite you unless you start paying tithes. And for you probably not even then 😀 Will there be a recording of your debate with Art? I’ll bet you demolish him — after all you’ve been there and already know what his arguments will be.

RK, I think you underestimate the capacity of Weinland’s followers to drink whatever type of Flavor Aid he’s serving on any particular sabbath. He’ll either invent a new timeline, come up with some BS about Christ returning in spirit, or as Kirrily points out will blame it on his members.

  • RK says:

“RK, I think you underestimate the capacity of Weinland’s followers to drink whatever type of Flavor Aid he’s serving on any particular sabbath.”

I’ll be the first to admit, Mike, that I really couldn’t argue with what you are saying, especially if Ron can pull off the idea that the Thunders were really just a stumbling block, designed to trip up the unfaithful.

All I can say, is that if Ron can tap-dance his way through Pentecost 2012, it probably says more about the members than Ron, that they are truly a sorry lot, in need of help and some good counseling.

I probably look at things too darkly, but I just have this fear that someone could go really bonkers, and do something terrible before this is all over with.

  • Baywolfe says:

As I said on Dill Weed’s site, this is either called “Stockholm Syndrome” or “idiocy”.

I would love to be able to rescue the former, Ron can have the latter.

  • Whisper says:

    Thanks Mike

Listened to 1 minute of the 1:17 time frame and heard the man actually state it, many of his statements about the thunders where not his, only recanted to allow others to stumble where they will…
That is the best song and dance he can do? That is the best “I didn’t do it” he can muster?
Ron is a poor spokesman to say the least.
If one is going to lie one should take the time and effort to really spin a good one, put in enough truth so that the waters get muddy and no real “right & wrong” can be applied to it.
I rather guess ol Ron has become a mediocre liar because the people he lies to regularly accept it way to easily so there is no need to be a good liar.

Well, on the plus side, it does stop many new people from joining up as the liar is not trying hard and thier ears have not been slaved to Ron’s voice by way of really cleaver lies.
Rons getting more sloppy all the time, just rambles on stating what he feels like as if God was speaking through him and he doesn’t even have to try as God will take care of it all.

So, when will Ron pull his own cork in the J-City again? Septemberish 2011?

  • Kirrily XPKG says:

I too, now, finally believe Ron is a pure con man (and a dumb ass one at that).

You know who has upset me FAR, FAR more than Ron? Wayne and Chris Matthews.

I loved them so much. Whenever I had doubts when I was in Ron’s group, I would think to myself, ‘well, they are elders, they have been around a LOT longer than me, if Ron was false, THEY would know..’.

Oh yes, seems that the Matthews’ probably have their own agenda. They are NOT stupid people. But then, the very trait that they all sprout off about – PRIDE – is the very thing they themselves are ruled by.

To admit you are wrong, that God was never with you, that you believed a lie is just too unbearable to contemplate for most – and it is PRIDE that stops them admitting the truth – pure and simple.

When I left, I had to acknowledge all that to myself. Did it hurt? You bet. It left me with nothing – and THAT Ronnie boy, is where you find true humility. At your depths of NOTHINGNESS – I guess that is when you are like a helpless child, all your knowledge and beliefs fading away.

Scary, but also (after a time) – LIBERATING.

Do I hate Ron? Not anymore.
Do I feel hurt by Ron? Not anymore.

What do I feel for COG-PKG? Well, not too much anymore truth be told.

I still work through a lot of junk because of it all, but, it’s just turned into something so pathetic… for everyone still a member.

Given my example before about the Elders, they too will have a lot to answer for – I bet I wasn’t the only newbie who stuck around because ‘they (elders) know better’. Hats off to Benjamin for leaving…

Now, for something important….what on earth will I wear to work today??? mmmmmmm

Take a few striploins into that particular den of lions, Dennis; WHAT would possess you do DO that?? I mean, yeah, yeah, free trip and all, but really? Really? Haven’t you read Art’s crazy-ass ads in Connections? He’s a few sandwiches shyer of a picnic than Weinland! (OK, OK, not by much, but still.)

    Good luck with that…….
