I'm sure it's probably both - you have to have a certain mindset to join such a group in the first place after all.

Kirrily, you owe it to yourself to investigate whether the PKG is the cause, or just a symptom, of the problem.

Steve, you are so right. I agree that there are MANY people out there who are making better predictions than Ron - God's most formidable prophet of all time *snicker*.

In so far as suffering mentally once a member leaves, I also totally agree. I left about a year ago, and let me tell you, I still really suffer the after effects. I really don't know what happened whilst I was in there, or the tactics used (concious or otherwise) - but I know how they have effected me.

To explain it briefly, you LOSE yourself when you are in there, but you don't know its happening.

When you come out, you have to firstly realise that you have lost yourself (which took me nearly a year!), then be shocked at yourself seeing how you have been behaving (so not like me, well, the me I USED to know), then set about trying to figure out what's going on (which is where I am at now).

Wow - such a process.

If someone had have told me when this is what would've happened to me leaving a group like PKG, I never would've believed it. I would've thought "That's what would happen to the weak and gullible, not ME!!!" - but there it is.

I was in PKG, now I'm out - now I have to figure myself out, again.....

I find all this just incredibly WEIRD. It doesn't make any logical sense, and that's the hard part. It's all about unconcious things, things you can't touch or easily see. I think that is what I find so difficult.

It's pretty hard when you wake up one day and just feel like you have woken up from a very, very, very long nightmare. Then you have to figure out how to live again. I HAD considered myself a very strong person, but this whole experience has brought me to my knees. That Ronnie boy, is where I found humility - on my knees, not in your little cult.

It doesn't even matter if any of his prophecies "did" start coming true cuz he has already been wrong so many times...if someone is to be trusted they will get it right all the time, not wrong the first second upto the 20th time then start to get it right from the 21st onwards etc....Ron IS confusion and a complete thorn to any person who lacks knowledge in this area (which is what he preys upon-lack of knowledge & thus fear).

A political analyst can predict better than Ron...infact they are sometimes very accurate...for example i remember reading a newspaper article in 1999 talking about what the 21st century holds for us...the analyst was asked: "What will be the main image of the early 21st Century?"...his reply was along the lines of: "you will see radical Islam on the rise and the main image will thus be a Muslim with a Koran in one hand and an AK47 in the other"...well we know what happened a year later or so and has continued upto now...so this analyst is a far better prophet than Ron....there are countless people better at predicting things.

I expect that a number of people who will come out of his cult will suffer mentally (unfortunately) after having their whole way of thinking "re-structured" by Ron...which by the way is a classic mind control programming procedure used by dangerous "regimes" in third world countries and other areas...breaking them down to nothing so to speak (from their old beliefs) and then "re-building/re-structuring" their brain to be dependent on him.....perhaps im giving him too much credit for his conscious mind....but even if he doesn't realize that is what he is doing...that seems to be the result.

Let me repeat;

Ron Is the definition of confusion.

That is disgusting.

Fortunately, everything seems to happen the opposite of what Ron prophesies and what they prayed for. For example, all of the 5 ministers to die early on to prove Weinland is a prophet of God are all still alive.

I wonder if we could get Weinland to call a 2-day fast to pray that none of his critics would ever win a lottery jackpot. :-D

Pray that there be more conflict in Iraq... I must have glossed over that when I first read it. That's just appalling.

I wonder if he wonders why you are still alive and shortly after ordaining one of his own, the man passes away. No, I doubt it.

If memory serves Mike was cursed twice, once slowly and once quickly. Whether both where from the inside out I don't remember but Mike, the mockers, and the specific leaders of competing COG splinters are all still alive, kicking, breathing, and in fair health.
Curse? As if Ron could curse... well maybe like a sailer if the mood arises...

Wow, no more prophecy... now where into endless revisions of biblical form and minutia of biblical meaning. While Ron is hardly known at all he at least was someone once. He bouldly made predictions and prophecy... but failure has a way of chancing peope so his meglamania had to go somewhere else, into Elijah's and Apostles. Much more boring. Much less pizz-az and glitter, but much safer as he is not being so obviously wrong all the time. But less glitter brings in less new blood and the whole aparatus falls apart slowly...
