Women and “The Curse”

False Prophet Ronald Weinland has a new post up on his WordPress blog.  Here it is for your convenience, and to provide for an opportunity to comment on it since he understandably turns commenting off.  I’ve added a [few quick comments of my own].

————–Ron Weinland’s Post  —————————————————————

The last posting on this site addressed God’s current revelation to the Church about His “Elijah to come” at this end-time. As was stated, that commission has been given to me to fulfill in its completeness and not as a “type,” which was partially fulfilled in John the Baptist and in Herbert W. Armstrong. God is now going to bring both rolls [sic] of these previous “types” into a complete and final fulfillment that ushers in the second coming of His Son as the Messiah (the Christ-the ordained ruler) over all mankind.

This posting cannot cover all of the exciting revelation that God is giving concerning what His purpose is and what is meant by the expression of “restoring all things” in the commission of the end-time Elijah. It is about a “work” that God is doing in and through His human instruments, primarily through His Church.

In order to receive a far greater understanding of the inspiration, plain truth, and excitement of what God is now revealing, I am encouraging every one of you (if you have not already done so) to listen to some of this new truth as it is covered far more thoroughly in the sermon on Dec. 26, 2009, entitled, “Restoring All Things,” and in the current sermon series entitled, “Ordinations & Baptisms.”

Finding Fault:
The numerous groups that have formed from the scattering that took place during the apostasy of the Worldwide Church of God in December, 1994, are busy responding to what God is currently revealing to the Church through me as His end-time Elijah. They are quick to find fault in order to belittle and ridicule what God is now revealing.
[Can anyone find a response from other than mine and a few other blogs? (None of which are part of  “the scattering”.]

Some are much like the Pharisees who were always so quick and eager to find fault in anything Christ taught. They seethed at the notion that God would work or say such things through a man like Jesus. Yet in actuality, they were finding fault with the very Son of God, their very Passover Lamb.

It is no different today. Much of the leadership and membership in such organizations are not able to contain themselves with glee over what they think they now see as far clearer proof that I could not be of God; yet I am (of God)! [I doubt that most in the other CoGs even are aware of Weinland, and much less his latest antics.]

The very thing they fight against and refuse to embrace is the very truth that could help them escape what is coming. Those who refuse to repent and listen to what God is telling them will not be blessed to see the “promised land” that has been prophesied to come for so long now. The millennium is almost here, and only a small percentage will be allowed to enter. Most will have to wait until a future time when they will be “spiritually awakened” after they are physically resurrected in the final hundred years of mankind.

As much as the Pharisees hated the thought of Christ being the Messiah, most of those from the Church that have been scattered loathe the thought that I could possibly be the “Elijah to come,” let alone be one of the two end-time prophets and witnesses of God. Yet it is true. It is just a reality that so many do not yet accept. Human pride is such a shameful thing. As with the Pharisees, who knew there were words of truth in what Jesus Christ was saying, but refused to listen because he was threatening their authority and their belief that they were the true custodians of the word of God, there are many scattered groups and their leaders who are of this same deceived attitude and spirit today.

A Curse On Women:
As talked about in recent sermons, which I referred to earlier, one of the first things to be revealed that God is now beginning to address to His Church is the need to restore a far better and more correct mindset toward the role of women in society, especially within the Church and the family. From the beginning, Satan led the first two humans into sin in his effort to begin his work of seeking to destroy God’s plan for His Family—Elohim—and did so by striking out at the first human family.

Satan’s success in leading these two people to sin (due to the selfishness and pride of human nature) led to consequences. It resulted in that which all sin leads, the opposite of being blessed for obedience, but instead reaping curses for disobedience. Curses are the result of not being blessed and given favor by God. It is a matter of natural physical consequences that God has imposed upon nature when His sustaining power of preservation and favor is removed.

Sin infects the mind and alters how a person thinks. It distorts the capacity for sound and practical thinking as it leads to perverted and distorted reasoning that is further fueled by the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. When Adam and Eve sinned, the mind of man began to turn farther away from sound mindedness that can only come from God. Only God can reveal the way to right thinking and right relationships among people, and that is especially true in the context of this posting of how men think toward women. Even in reading this, many men will “think” that their thinking is right toward women, and yet it is not, and much must yet be changed!

In marriage, the right relationship between a husband and wife should be the most exciting and most rewarding relationship in life. However, this “got off on a wrong foot” from the very beginning.

Ever since man chose the way of sin (as all have, except Jesus Christ), men have not rightly respected women, not even their own wives (when married), and have instead ruled “over” women in a wrong manner that is authoritarian, controlling and demeaning (looking down as being lesser). This is what constitutes a large part of the curse upon women that has existed from the beginning. Over the centuries, even within the Church, that curse has only partially been lifted to the degree that individuals have repented of mistreatment of others and have truly sought to “change” self and become more God-like in character and thinking (in harmony with the truths and laws of God). But women have still been suppressed by being morally mistreated, demeaned, and held to an inferior state by men. And most sad of all, this has been perpetuated by husbands because of male ego, lust and pride.

God is now starting the greater process (which only partially started in the Church over the centuries) of restoring the dignity and honor that He intended women should have from the beginning. This is part of the “healing” process that is prophesied to fill the earth in the Millennium, as Satan and his demons are removed from the presence of mankind, and as Jesus Christ receives rule of all the earth. This healing process is now beginning to be restored in God’s Church as we accelerate toward that new age for all mankind. In this context, this is the greater fulfillment of the prophecy that states, “And those from among you shall build the old waste places and you shall raise up the foundations of many generations, and you shall be called, ‘The repairer of the breach, the restorer of paths to dwell in’” (Is. 58:12).

Of even greater inspiration is the literal translation from Hebrew that states, “And those from among you shall build from the destruction caused of old [ancient times] and you shall raise up the foundations of many generations, and you shall be called ‘The repairer of the break, the restorer [Heb. – “to set again,” “to reestablish”] of paths to dwell in.’”

Those who will be part of this work are blessed to help restore the God intended role and purpose of both man and woman in marriage and in society. When God’s government, love, and true purpose are more firmly reestablished in the foundation of marriage, the structure of the family will become far stronger than ever experienced in the previous 6,000 years. The human family will be given a giant boost that more readily leads into the very Family of God—Elohim.

The liberation of all races and nationalities is rapidly approaching, and at the top of that list is the true liberation of women from the demeaning state in which they have been “ruled over.” This also produces a liberation for man that yields a more fulfilling and rewarding life, a greater unity and oneness with God, and the greater experience of what true masculinity was intended to be from the beginning.

Ordination of Women:
It is in the midst of this restoration that is coming from God, through His Church to this world, that God has now revealed that women can be ordained to ministerial service in His Church. As this latest sermon series (”Ordinations and Baptisms”) is giving the soundness and balance of how this will exist in His Church, there are distinctions of service that will be different between men and women. Such distinctions of service will not exist because of the lesser ability, insight, understanding, or stature of women. It is because of the differences God established that would constitute the qualities that are genuine and true in all that reflects a unique beauty in the femininity of women, just as there is service that is only intended for men that God has created which constitutes right qualities of true masculinity.

True masculinity and true femininity can only be understood by how God defines each. Such truth and spiritual sound minded understanding can only come from God through the power of His spirit working in us.

God has revealed that the role of preaching in the environment of the formal Sabbath service is that of a masculine role, as God has defined it to be. That is not a feminine role, and if women did speak in a formal Sabbath environment, it would make a woman appear to have characteristics of masculinity that are not edifying or natural (as God created it to be).

God has revealed that women are to be ordained into ministerial service as elders. There is to be no distinction within the Church for the term “elder” (spiritual service) that would differentiate between a man or woman. Even for the office of a prophet, the term is simply “prophet” without a distinction of gender.

Within the Church, a woman would not be ordained to an apostle, evangelist or pastor because of many of those duties that God has set aside as masculine in nature. A woman can be ordained to that of a prophet or elder (sr. elder, elder, or associate elder).

The understanding God is currently giving concerning the removal of a curse upon women (and men) from the beginning is to begin the fulfillment of the prophesied role (work) of the “Elijah to come.” That “work” is about final preparations God is making for the return of His Son, Jesus Christ.

As John the Baptist baptized thousands into a baptism of repentance in preparation for the first coming of Jesus Christ, God’s Church is now preparing for massive numbers of baptisms into the Body of Christ in preparation for the second coming of Jesus Christ. Women will play as crucial a role in this as men will. Both men and women who are ordained may lay hands upon a person after baptism for the purpose of the impregnation of God’s spirit. Such a role is neither masculine nor feminine, but of God through the power of His spirit.

As Paul wrote in Galatians 3:27 & 28, “For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” The Family of God, including the begotten Family, is not a matter of gender. And so in ordination and the laying on of hands that God has chosen for His ministry to perform for the impregnation of His spirit for all who are baptized, this process in no manner reflects male or female in distinction, but the power of God to beget.

What exactly has he “restored”? It’s the same ole “women can’t do this or that because they are, well, female.” If anything he as accentuated his view of a lower status of women.
You know for the longest time at A.C. there was a rule in women’s basketball the forbid them from running the entire length of the court because it was thought that women weren’t made for that, that they couldn’t handle it.

The one thing he did get right is “Human pride is such a shameful thing.” Yes, Ron, yes it is. Oh, but Ron clearly doesn’t have a pride problem. No sir. It’s everyone ELSE who has it. The Elijah, Witness, Apostle, Spokesman, Prophet has no pride issue.
(chuckle, shake head, chuckle some more).

  • Mark says:

Oh, and by the way Ron, the Worldwide Church of God already ordains women, so I guess they “restored” this before you. And they are able to use their gifts, unlike in your organization.

  • Dill Weed says:

The air is filled with theocratic excitement as PKG elders anticipate their role in baptizing thousands and tens of thousands who will stream to PKG because the Thunders will identify Ron and Laura as God’s prophets.

Days and weeks pass. Then months. The Thunders return to silent mode again. Doubt rears it head.

Ron rails that he is still God’s prophet. Members begin to wonder…. where are hundreds? much less thousands or tens of thousands Ron said would come?

Ron rails again, louder this time.

Members begin to reflect that many of the things Ron has predicted have not come about and they sense another timeline change coming.

Some get wise and leave, then more. They are 10 % richer and 100% freer.

Ron changes the timeline again. The 2nd coming is postponed ‘until some time soon’. More members leave. Ron can’t afford any more internet ads or expensive travel having used all his frequent flier miles.

PKG has ‘scattered’ and Ron is reduced to holding a placard at ball games that says “The End is Nigh!”

    The end.

“As John the Baptist baptized thousands into a baptism of repentance in preparation for the first coming of Jesus Christ, God’s Church is now preparing for massive numbers of baptisms into the Body of Christ in preparation for the second coming of Jesus Christ. ”

Dill Weeds’ comment pretty much says it all.

Before, it was plain to see that Ron had pretty much laid his cards on the table by committing himself to Pentecost of 2012.

But now, Ron has speeded up his own day of reckoning by hanging himself on this baptism thing.

  • Kirrily XPKG says:

“PKG has ’scattered’ and Ron is reduced to holding a placard at ball games that says “The End is Nigh!”.

I guess he can take comfort and solace in all his Titles – and I wonder how many more he will have by then?

  • True masculinity and true femininity can only be understood by how God defines each. Such truth and spiritual sound minded understanding can only come from God through the power of His spirit working in us.

Well, here’s an emperor’s new clothes moment. Nothing he says can be either backed up or refuted by any other source (Biblical or otherwise) because it is an understanding direct from God. So then Weinland makes these nonsense assertions:

God has revealed that the role of preaching in the environment of the formal Sabbath service is that of a masculine role, as God has defined it to be. That is not a feminine role, and if women did speak in a formal Sabbath environment, it would make a woman appear to have characteristics of masculinity that are not edifying or natural (as God created it to be)…There is to be no distinction within the Church for the term “elder” (spiritual service) that would differentiate between a man or woman…Within the Church, a woman would not be ordained to an apostle, evangelist or pastor because of many of those duties that God has set aside as masculine in nature…

Anyone who challenges these simply reveals themselves to not have God’s spirit.Anyway, I wonder if he believes he is going to be restoring the correct rolls [sic] of women outside the church, or if within the church will be enough? Will the witness get on radio to say, “Hey guys – treat women right!” I guess only in his church – since treating women right is all about ordaining them. And when will he come up with a role that is just-for-women? So far it is just men-only and shared roles.

  • Whisper says:

“most of those from the Church that have been scattered loathe the thought that I could possibly be the “Elijah to come,” let alone be one of the two end-time prophets and witnesses of God.”

Most of the church loaths Ron? Most? Some? A few? Barely any at all?
Seriously who out there as a part of one of the COG’s actually keeps up with PKG’s antics?
    Who knows of Ron anywho?

“Yet it is true. It is just a reality that so many do not yet accept. Human pride is such a shameful thing.”

It’s just a reality? A reality? A “reality” generated within Ron’s head and spoken by Ron’s mouth does not a reality make.
Human pride can be shameful, sometimes… But Ron would be the poster-child for PRIDE me thinks…

    Go figure?

  • Mike (DDTFA) says:

Ron likes to point to bloggers who criticize him as evidence of the stirred up “scattering”. Yet none of the the most active anti-Weinland bloggers: Dill Weed, Jack, or myself have ever been a member of any of the Armstrongite CoGs.

And my relations who are CoGgers have barely heard of Ron.

But Ron has to preface all of his new truths with a diatribe against the mockers.

  • J says:

Whenever I speak to someone at UCG who knew my mother from years ago, I tell them about her leaving UCG and joining Weinland’s church. No one has heard of him, and I mean no one. I mention he claims to be a prophet and end-time witness. They just chuckle and roll their eyes. A common response is “what about that scripture, no man knows the day and the hour?”

My father-in-law, who is a UCG elder, vaguely remembers him from decades earlier. Apparently Weinland was known even back in the 80s to not be a very good pastor. Talked way too much with very little substance. Sound familiar?

I believe the story goes that David Register, a UCG pastor, has met thirteen of the Two Witnesses in his time. 😀

  • Mike (DDTFA) says:

I hadn’t heard that of David Register. But Dennis Diehl wrote this about the Two Witnesses:

In my 26-year experience as a Pastor, I had managed to meet 23 of the Two Witnesses of Revelation. I am tempted to say 11 pairs and one who thought he was both, but that’s not how it really was. Every one of these was a lone male, sometimes a pastor, sometimes a member, often times a lone religious renegade that no church would claim.

  • Mark says:

I am a fairly well rehabilitated ex-WCGer (I have no current affiliation with any CoG). I saw a posting on Gavin’s blog in April 2008 and thought that it was an entertaining diversion to watch the nit-wit Weinland (whom I had never heard of before) screw up in such a humiliating way. Of course, true to form for most CoG splinter ministers, Weinland’s failures haven’t deterred him one bit, and honestly never will. Since he hasn’t repented, I continue to mock him. He is worthy of any mocking that he gets!

  • Whisper says:

Sometimes these failures have a tendancy to build up over time, Mark. The strong will can keep back the registration of many failures and keep going with a smile on the face and no real doubts lurking in the mind… But it builds my friend, one failure at a time. It’s like putting one brick on a strong foundation and stating that one is strong! Well one is strong in relation to one brick, but as the bricks begin to build year after year the load gains and the foundation shows tiny strain marks. But underneath that tiny crack is a huge crack being held in check… for a time.
When Ron looses the majority of his congregation and all his words continue to be failure Ron will see his failure and despair will blosum.
This is not a good thing and is ugly in everyone I’ve ever seen it happen to. But it comes down to strength vs. strain. Ron has an inner strength no doubt, but he is building his own strain day by day.
Ron is already angry, doubting, fly’s into fits, cast condemnation down upon his mockers, asks God to kill of his own brothers and sisters in Christ… Are these cracks?

    Go figure?

  • Aggie says:

“Oh, and by the way Ron, the Worldwide Church of God already ordains women, so I guess they “restored” this before you. And they are able to use their gifts, unlike in your organization.”

Where’s that airsick bag when you need it? Spare me the Gracie apologia, Mark, they need to seriously show us the money.

  • “Seriously who out there as a part of one of the COG’s actually keeps up with PKG’s antics?”

When I was running the WW blog in 2008 (remember, it’s now 2010, NO REBOOT WEINLAND), I exchanged emails with UCG and LCG members, and a ministry team from one “independent” CoG. The two independents were trying to find Bible verses to refute one of their members who was dabbling in the dark waters of “2008: GFW”, so I put them on to As Bereans Did at the time.

The LCG and UCG members I spoke with, said PKG’s antics was basically point-and-laugh refreshments-table talk, in their congregations. Which, in the end, is really the ONLY notoriety Weinland has, in the ex-WWCG world.

  • Mike (DDTFA) says:

I’m sure there are a few in the other CoGs who keep track of Weinland. But relatively very few.

I do get occasional web traffic from Living CoG and Plain Truth Ministries. I could understand why Rod would care, since Ron has issued a death curse against him. Don’t know why Greg would, though.

  • Mark says:

“Where’s that airsick bag when you need it? Spare me the Gracie apologia, Mark.”

There you go again. You seriously have only one note don’t you? There aren’t any WCG apologetics anywhere in my comment- you just read it that way because you have only one filter. It is meant to grate on Weinland’s nerves because the great Man of Sin has one up on him.
I have no affiliation with or desire to defend WCG. Time to let go of the cancer. I did. I know you can too.

  • Dennis says:

One can see Ron’s accelerating delusions. This man is mentally ill. He is basing, as do many fundamentalists, his views on a literal understanding of the Adam and Eve story. Ron really believes , still, that humans came from Adam and Eve. It never could dawn on him that they are mythologies written for reasons far different than the ones he gives. Kinda creepy to see a man mention Elijah, John the Baptist, Jesus and Ron Weinland in the same sentence. A mind a terrible thing….waste it!

  • angel says:

Mental illness takes many forms; sometimes they’re based on an actual medical condition, and sometimes they’re just claims made by someone who doesn’t happen to think the things someone else says/does make sense. Most here agree that Ron is probably not mentally ill; he appears delusional because he chooses to ignore the fact that his prophecies failed and his many conflicting statements show he’s not as interested in the truth as he claims to be.

One of the saddest things about what Ron has done is he’s given unbelievers another reason to reject and distrust God. He whines about mockers as if he and his little group are the only ones that have ever experienced the disdain of those who think they’re too smart to believe in God, the Bible, Christianity, etc. Not only is he not any of the supernatural personas he claims to be, nor is he being used by God to bring people to saving faith; he’s leaving a trail of broken relationships, depleted bank accounts, and disillusionment in his wake.

Unbelievers can find plenty of reasons to mock the idea that God’s word is true without someone like Ron handing them more reasons on a silver platter; heck, he’s laid out a banquet of false doctrines and prophecies.

Ron is crazy alright, crazy like a fox.

  • Aggie says:

Eh, I still say Weinland’s crazy like a fox, not mentally ill. If anything, he’ll use these shenanigans to wiggle out of the CID trial (if indeed it gets to trial).

As for Mark, spare me the “get over it” attitude, please. If you’ve “let go of the cancer”, what pray tell are you doing here?

    [

      Mike_DDTFA chiming in:

This little squabble between Mark and Aggie stops here, and I am having the last word. Aggie, Mark has already answered your question — I suggest you re-read what he wrote here and think about it]

  • Aggie says:

LOL, great minds think alike Angel, our comments went through at the same time! 😀

  • Aggie says:

“Don’t [k]no[w] why Greg would, though.”

Hmm, maybe Albrecht is keeping track of the ex-CoG blogosphere, ever since his little verbal diarrhetic fart last year, claiming he was reduced to eating beans, because the tithes were so poor. (Meanwhile, he made $119,193.00 in 2007.) It was a tactic that literally exploded on him, and is still having repercussions, six months later.

Could be Albrecht is gearing up for a round of C&D letters? Or perhaps has too much time on his hands, now being rendered socially unacceptable due to all the flatulence he must be experiencing, being reduced to eating beans the way he is? Or maybe he’s gearing up for a shot at “the scattered church” based on, erm, “witnessing” what Weinland’s been up to, for the past couple years?

    Interesting to speculate, at least.

  • Mike (DDTFA) says:

To whom would Greg issue C&D letters? For what?

  • Aggie says:

Beats me? Everyone making fart jokes at his expense? 😉

  • angel says:

    Aggie,

That is uncanny – what are the odds?
