Ron Vs the CoG Leaders
At a couple of points during Insane Lying False Prophet Ronald Weinland’s sermon last Saturday, he took pot shots at some of the leaders of competing CoGs. He dug up some old copies of his News Watch magazines from 1998 and 1999. From the sermon:
[Reading from page 5 of the Jan '99 issue of News Watch]“The large organizations will no longer be functioning as they are today. On the contrary, even now they are nearing their end.”
[Commenting extemporaneously] Now people can mock and make fun of that. 1999 – Hah, they’re nearing their end. A lot truer today than it was then. How near is near? Ten years? Eleven years? Is that not near? Amazing how human beings are sometimes, now haughty human beings are. Some who like to poke fun at and make fun of some of what is said in one area of the thunders about certain leaders of the church. It’s coming. It’s coming. In God’s time. According to God’s will.
The “area of the thunders” Ron referred to is the first phase of the fifth thunder of the 6th seal. During the first phase of the fifth thunder, Rod Meredith, Richard Ames (both of Living CoG), Gerald Flurry (Philadelphia CoG), David Pack (Restored Cog), and John Ritenbaugh (CGG) were to die early on. This is all described on page 107-108 of 2008 – God’s Final Witness and offered as a test of himself as a prophet “How much more specific can one be to show that he is either of God, and indeed His prophet, or someone who has clearly stepped over the line to be dealt with by God in a speedy manner. Time will tell! And, you don’t have long to wait!”
As described in 2008 – God’s Final Witness “This phase of the Fifth Thunder is one of my own choosing, which God has granted me as part of His own will and purpose for the Church”. Well, it’s over 3 years since the book was released in November of 2006, and over a year since the 6th seal ended for the second time, and we’re still waiting as none of these accursed CoG leaders are dead. Not mocking or making fun of, just pointing out something for those who have eyes to see. God didn’t grant Insane Lying False Prophet Ronald Weinland anything.
Ron wasn’t done. He took additional pot shots at John Ritenbaugh for counting Pentecost a week differently a few years. And then he went on to mention a “minister from Missouri”.
Ron started his globe trotting with a trip to Europe in November of 1999 using Steve Dalrymple’s air miles. Ron mentioned that during that trip he used Benjamin and Grace’s home in greater London to conduct a Bible study which was attended by a number* of people including Phillip Burman who is still one of Ron’s elders. The group in the UK now is fewer than 50, most of whom joined in 2007 and 2008 after Ron started promoting his book, so I doubt that very many of those attending Ron’s Bible study went with PKG. Any friendships that Benjamin and Grace had with others in that small group are now ended by edict of Sheriff Ron. * (According to Saturday’s sermon, 19 people were at the meeting in London in 1999. According to the sermon of Dec 5, 1999 there were 12 people including 3 children.)
Ron continued on in last week’s sermon:
“It was at this time [1999] that we invited that minister from Missouri to be there during Thanksgiving while we were away. And while we were away, the mice did play. Because they started hatching up division while we were gone, while we were in Europe. And they began to spread things around a bit here and there. And they began to talk amongst themselves. About what I was doing and I was their minister and I should be there and I shouldn’t be anyplace else and I shouldn’t go anyplace else, because he’s our minister. And basically he should do what we tell him to do. Little did he know what God was
While Ron was in Europe, he missed two sermons. On November 20, 1999 Al Buchanan delivered a sermon titled “Children of the Light” to “the Church of God” in Toledo. Al Buchanan was the minister of the Belleville CoG (a suburb of St. Louis in Illinois). By all accounts, Al is not an empire builder. In fact a few weeks after this last Feast of Tabernacles he stepped down, stating that he felt his little CoGlet was encouraging division within Armstrongism. This just points up Ron’s paranoia. Ron, just because you’re plotting doesn’t mean that everyone else is.
On the other hand, it was just over two months after Ron’s first European trip as a prophet that he seized control of the Church of God Inc from its lay board during January and February of 2000. Ron the cat swallowed the church whole and spit out the mice.
During Ron’s sermon this past week, he quoted from various issues of News Watch. Here’s one potshot against CoGs that he didn’t quote. From the June-July 1999 issue on page 3 (336kB PDF Download):
Today some believe they are to give a warning witness to Israel. What a puny effort we see. If and when God gives a witness to Israel, more than He already has, you will know it. Israel has already received the height of a warning witness given through the Philadelphia period of time, and they rejected it. That is a witness against them!
The next witness will be obvious. It will be when God needs no Church to help sponsor nor support it. There will be such miraculous events accomplished at that time that much free publicity will be given. The work of that witness will consist of such newsworthy events that it will be widely reported in this world. There will be no need for an organization to sponsor such efforts.
That future witness to Israel will be one that reminds them of the earlier witness they refused during the Philadelphia era. It will tell them why they are then suffering once the physical tribulation has begun. It will also be a message to the whole world of what is soon to follow – the Kingdom of God on earth with the soon coming of Jesus Christ as King of kings. That job has been set aside for two to accomplish by the power of God. No church organization is going to do it, and no individual is going to be able to set himself up as God’s apostle to do it. It is for the two who are yet to be sent by God.
Ron sure doesn’t skimp on his irony pills. Ron, here you have it. It’s all your fault that the Great Tribulation hasn’t started. You don’t need the COG-PKG. Turn it over to Johnny and strike out on your own exercising your awesome Witness powers. When you and Laura are on your way out of town to call down plagues on world capitols, Y’ALL can stop off to breathe fire on that nasty IRS special agent who keeps serving Audra with summonses.

It all just gopes to show that God is not backing Ron. Every sermon Ron digs his hole deeper. He probably has a hard time believing himself. Rons failures prompt questions. Ron doesn’t like questions.
I hope the email from Benjamin surfaces. Benjamin, if you’re out there.
It will be interesting to see how Ron turns up the non-thundering Thunders. He has so many failing prophecies that he’ll have to use each sermon to defend them. Heh-heh-heh.
I wonder if Ron would go back to ideaCity if invited?

The damage Ron is inflicting, and likewise those who ALLOW his damage to be inflicted upon them (like I allowed him to do) is EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY hard to deal with once you are out.
I was silent for some time after I left in Jan 09 (wow, nearly a year ago), I think about 2 months or so, before I started to FEEL something again – you all here have seen the many emotions I have done through.
I believe that Ron is truly evil. I no longer believe he is delusional, I really believe now that he has been taken over by ‘the dark side’. I know that sounds pretty strong, but I really do believe it. Everything going on with this poor excuse for a human being is nothing but evil.
The funny thing is, is that to be a good liar you need to have a good memory. Unfortunately for Ron, his lies can’t stack up because of his inadequacy in this area. He actually gets angry if you ask a simple honest question, for example the scripture in Deut. about testing a prophet. Wayne is the same.
COG-PKG is a CRUEL, heartless organisation – blaming the members for EVERYTHING that goes wrong. “It’s your lack of faith”, “It’s your sin”, “You can’t SEE the truth, maybe God is not calling you”, “You just don’t get it”, “It’s your pride” and on, and on, and on, and on, and on.
Yeah, I drunk the flavor aid for a long time – it’s poisoned me all right. I am still looking for the antidote – but at least when I stopped drinking that poison, I could at least begin to see again – learn to love life again, feel some resemblence of joy again, feel again – and have FUN, YES FUN again!! WHOOOO HOOOOO!!!!!!
Ronnie boy, oh Ronnie boy – you enjoy the power whilst you have it.
You enjoy inflicting pain on people while you still can.
Enjoy collecting people’s hard earned money, time is short.
Keep delivering your insane sermons.
Enjoy your beautiful house which you bought with other peoples money.
Keep buying your wench those lovely diamond rings.
Keep buying things on credit knowing you won’t have to pay it back because the tribulation ‘is so near now, truly’.
Keep blaming your members for non-events.
Keep lying, then calling your lies misunderstandings and people just ‘dont get it’.
Keep telling people that they don’t love God, and never did because they aren’t in your group.
Keep inflicting your anger and hatred, but calling it ‘correction’ and ‘love’.
Keep it up Ronnie boy, oh rotten ronnie – your time is short. You know, people never last long on the dark side. You are playing on the wrong team, and you have no idea what you are in for.
Evil, rotten to the core Ronnie and his wench – tick tock, tick tock, tick tock…….

mmmmm – never would’ve written anything like this prior to PKG – I guess Ronnie boy, oh ronnie boy, that is the fruit of being involved in PKG – the rotten fruit that is still in my tree – yeah, I’m still trying to shake it off. But there it is, everyone here has seen your rotten fruit in me.
Now they will see the goodness in me prevail against your evil. I will do this by loving again, living again, contributing to society again, trusting again, learning again – oh yes, this is the fruit I have planted within myself – when it’s harvest time, and this new fruit is in full bloom, then I will know I have beaten you Ronnie boy – and oh yes, I will beat you – and you Ronnie, will be a distant memory, a faded nightmare – which in time, will be entirely forgotten.
Your hatred and cruelty will be swallowed by my love – and you, you will be done and gone.

Ron has much failure on his hands that it just can’t go on for ever…
On the other hand Con-Man-Ron is just laughing his bum off at all this… even while the failure of Prophetp-Man-Ron is rising.
The only thing that would stop the Con in Ron is the IRS…
At the same time Delusional-Man-Ron is so far gone he just ignores the failure…
A what a sad example of a human being, a poster child for the would “Pitiful”.

So here are the facts:
1. Ronald Weinland has CLEARLY “stepped over the line”, with not one, not two, but two-and-three-quarters’ worth of failed prophecies.
2. “God” has NOT “dealt with [Weinland] in a speedy manner”.
Ergo, THERE IS NO GOD.
This is also the same freethinking logic I used approximately two years after we quit going to church, and my family “fell away”. If all religions are false, and “God’s one true religion” is false too, that pretty much sums it up right there, doesn’t it?
Kirrily, seems you’re starting to turn the corner recovering from the Ron-con. The best revenge is living well.

You do have a point. When has anyone ever suffered the penalties of Deut 18:20 or Revelation 22:18-19? Certainly applied to Herbie, yet he died in his 90′s.
Kirrily, I agree with you. There’s definitely some evil influence here.
After all, this fits right into prophecy. Paraphrasing: “There will be false teachers among you…..deny Jesus Christ……even among the elect.” What Ron is doing fits exactly into Jesus’ warnings. Jesus knew exactly what Satan would be up to, and I think we’re seeing a glimpse of it right now. Now to what extent Ron is just making things up for money or receiving some demonic influence (which he thinks to be God), I don’t know, but there’s definitely something wrong in that guy’s head.
Mike, Aggie – that is what I have wondered too – God promises to punish these false prophets, yet *crickets*. WTF??
Is Ron being punished?
Failure after failure, false words, lieing, the hearts desire to be a Holy Man faiding, the desperate “want” of being able to prophecy yet nothing comes true, the burning ambition to have a huge following of adhoring psycho-phants who’s lives hinge upon Rons every word but not happening…
These are the private failures and anguishes of Ron (for his delusional half…) and while the face has not cracked yet the inside is amove with turmoil and anguish. I’m sure he would like to live up to his word in his wifes eyes, but that continues to fail as well…
We make our own hells and we have need of no new ones.
Don’t ask for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.
A little tale I remember of Permoremies encountering the Arch Demon Mephisti in his very own temple and summoning up the courage to banish him back to the nether reagions. But Mephisti simply looked back at him with amusement and said “Hell? But I am in hell now, nor have I left it”.
If Ron is drinking his own flavor aid then what would be Ron’s Hell?
He may very well be in it.

My thoughts are – If there is A Source, A Creator, A Spirit or some other Originator – and that might be a possibility something like that exists – It is not the God put forth by the WCG, it’s splinters (including PKG) or many of the “churches” that are in existence today.
I try to keep an open mind on the issue – I guess because of my upbringing, there is a desire in me that something like that exists – Something in me seems to be on the lookout for it – One thing for sure is that I can recognize where it is not, and that is one of the lessons I learned through my years of experience at the WCG.
Many would talk the talk, but not walk the walk – I am not speaking re: a few incidences, cuz we are all human and have our shortcomings as well as our strengths – I am talking about an Attitude and Dispositon which many people operate out of – It is just like Ronnie – It is a Mindset – It’s a “Don’t you know who I am” – and “How dare you question or think as you do” that certain people give off by their aura, what they say & do.
I have read where some think that Herbert W. was the originator for this “Attitude” etc, however, I wonder if it was more of a matter that he drew “like-minded” people to him and they continued to grow these negative traits.
Just to keep some balance to this, there are people like this in all walks of life, and not just in “churches”.
Kirrily, I think it is great that you can put down your thoughts the way you do – I am sure it is a cleansing experience – It it what you need to do for your recovery, and that is a good thing.

Good for you, Kirrily, that’s the start of being a freethinker! Keep asking those questions. Asking questions is what will keep you free!
I was reminded by our discussion of Deut 18:20 of a comment Kirrily left on my old blog, about when Wayne Matthews gave her mom the heave-ho. Quoting:

Where do we stand in the whole “timeline” thingy?
We are some 603 days into the “g”reat tribulation as espoused by Ron’s book. This is the original and only timeline as in the book Ronny said he “would not” make any changes.
603 days and a whole lot of typical normal world like behaviour. Tribulating? Nope…
We are some 362 days into Ron’s second take (the thing he said he “would not” do). Even with a second chance at this whole con there is still sunshine and the world spins on oblivious to Ron…
We are some 72 days into Ron’s abridged (3rd attempt) timline where Ron cut off all the typical non-tribulating days and started the real deal – hardcore tribulation! But unfortuantely for Ronny the 3rd time was not the charm and the world simply continued on oblivious to Ron and his prophecy, nothing happened yet again…
Ron keeps compromising his book and ergo himself. This has gotta wear on him over time. Fortunately for Ron he is Delusional and that helps insulate the failure… for a time.
