Ronald Weinland Vs WWW.COG-PKG.ORG

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

False Prophet Ronald Weinland has generously provided a PDF transcript of his December 19th “Elijah” sermon.  A few quotes from that sermon transcript show him increasingly emphatic about being the Elijah-to-come:

[Page 14] And he talked about a type of duality and I don’t know any other way to say it today here, but just to tell you… I also am an ‘Elijah to come’.
[Page 16] Well, I’m telling you today: I am the ‘Elijah to come’ – see?
[Page 18]: I am the final fulfillment of the ‘Elijah to come’. [Emphasis from original transcript]

Also, in his blog posting of last week he demoted Herbert Armstrong to solidify his own credentials as the Elijah-to-come:

Herbert W. Armstrong fulfilled a “type” of the Elijah to come as prophesied in the Old Testament and as prophesied by Jesus Christ.   …… The truth is that neither John the Baptist nor Herbert W. Armstrong fulfilled the complete prophecies concerning the “Elijah to come,” but they fulfilled a “type” of that prophetic fulfillment.

The Church of God – PKG Church Website has some interesting things to say on the matter.  On the COG-PKG FAQ page.

The Living Church of God, under the leadership of Roderick Meredith, is also asleep spiritually. Roderick C. Meredith is guilty in his failure to acknowledge Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong as the prophesied Elijah to come, who would restore all things to God’s true Church. In a sermon series where Roderick Meredith’s own words are quoted from taped recordings, Ronald Weinland has exposed the leadership of the Living Church of God for refusing God’s true witness of what God accomplished through His end-time apostle (See “Sermon Archives” for 2001, beginning in a four part series on Oct. 27, 2001). In doing this, Roderick Meredith has denied God Himself.

On the COG-PKG Topics Page

The Church of God-PKG is a continuation of the Church that God and Jesus Christ started on the day of Pentecost in 31 AD. The Church has operated under different organizational names which all carried the name “Church of God.” Mr. Armstrong was the Elijah to come as stated in Malachi 4:5 and operated under the organizational name of the “Worldwide Church of God.” The Church of God-PKG continues in the truth that was restored through Herbert W Armstrong.

And on the COG-PKG 50 Truths page

Herbert W. Armstrong was the prophesied “Elijah to come” who restored all truth essential to salvation to the Church of God during the Philadelphia Era. Very few in the Church that was scattered teach this today. Mr. Armstrong described himself as a voice crying out in the wilderness and stated in Mystery of the Ages that he had fulfilled the prophecies of the Elijah to Come.

This last was the 39th “truth”.  I wonder how long it will be before God-denier Ronald Weinland gets around to having Jeremy edit the website to account for the demotion of spiritual idol Herbert Armstrong to only a “type”.  Will it be before or after I die speedily from the curse Weinland issued 53 weeks ago?

Restoring All Things

Saturday, December 26th, 2009

False Prophet Ronald Weinland was a few minutes late getting started since the hall in Orlando needed to be rearranged.  During the announcements, he mentioned Tyler, a child in New Mexico who is undergoing treatment for leukemia.  I view it as a positive sign that he is being given qualified medical care and hope it works for him.

Ron made a point of not giving Tyler’s address as there supposedly are crackpots and weirdos out there who like to stir things up.  That sort of thing does not happen on my blog.   I have not published any of the addresses that have come my way, including that of the false apostle and has-been Elijah.  In fact, I’m not aware that it has happened anywhere except for a couple of incidents in comments which were quickly deleted by the website management. So Ron, whom are you talking about?

During the sermon, he railed against mockers and critics, who seek to destroy Ron and his church with lies and deceit.  Ron, I would like to see your false ministry end, but my means are to show the truth.  As I’ve said before in an email to you which you probably deleted, if I’ve said something on my site that’s not truthful then tell me what it is so I can correct it.  Rather, you impugn what I’m doing because you’re afraid that if more of your members read my site then even more will leave.

dangle_carrotAt the beginning of the sermon, Ron said it would be on the par of his sermons at the 2005 Feast of Tabernacles at which he presented his unique (at least among Armstrongites) doctrine on the origin of Christ.  First he read part way through his blog posting, and then diverted to the new topic.  After reading verses from Acts 8 and Acts 19 about the laying on of hands after baptism possible only by ordained ministers, he announced that there would be additional waves of elders.  These would be termed as associate elders, whose job it will be to baptize the hordes of people wanting to join PKG due to the fulfillment of Ron’s prophecies, which although they didn’t happen when he said they would, they will eventually.

I speculated in my last post that the status of Laura would change.  Its turns out that it has in an indirect fashion.  Laura no longer is the only ordained female in PKG.  It turns out that sleeping with an evangelist gives one spiritual qualities, as Angela (Ann) Wrozek and Myrtle Harrell were ordained by Ron as senior elders last week in Georgia.  Then Ron called Wayne Matthews in Melbourne who then ordained his wife Christine (Chris) as the third senior elder.  More men and women will be ordained as associate elders.

And Laura does have a new title.  She no longer is a prophetess.  She now is a prophet.  Ron objects to the second-class status of women, although they still will not be able to speak during services.

Some of the sealed who are older and physically not capable of performing the baptism are ineligble to be ordained.  Now this doesn’t quite make sense.  If lay members can help in the dunking part, then all they have to really do is the laying-on-of-hands part.  But why am I expecting anything Ron does to make sense.

But adding more elders including does make sense to me.  It binds the ordained ones closer to Ron so they’ll continue to ignore the failure of Ron’s prophecies. Ron plans an elders conference in Cincinnati on February 27 for training.  Ron promises more waves of ordination.  And who knows?  Maybe 20-something Tony Wilson who runs the HWA Compendium website will get to be an elder too.

Ron took time to rail against mockers and critics, who are trying to weaken the church with lies and deceit and who are being eaten up with cancer from the inside.  Now that was his curse in his first timeline — Ron, you said 53 weeks ago that I was to die quickly from the inside.

A New Title for Laura, Too?

Spokesman Witness, Apostle, Elijah-to-come and False Prophet Ronald Weinland has promised yet new revelation in his sermon this weekend, both in last weekend’s sermon and this week’s blog posting:

Beginning this Sabbath, the Church will take another big step forward in doing that commission given to it in this end-time. ……  This Sabbath God is beginning the process of restoring things that have been removed from mankind since the days of Adam and Eve.

eveMy speculation is that it will be a change in Laura’s status.  If so, will Ron tell Laura to stop cackling at his lame jokes, citing the following scriptures?

1 Corinthians 14:34  Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
1 Corinthians 14:35  And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

1 Timothy 2:11  Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
1 Timothy 2:12  But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

I rather doubt it.  He’s more likely to elevate her status.  But she already is ordained as prophetess and placed just below him over the church, so what more can he do?  Apostless? Elijah-to-comess? Maybe she won’t be the Silent Witness anymore?  Ron could have her do the next radio interview, which would amplify the 6th Thunder of the 6th Seal — now that would get some media attention as I don’t think there’s ever been a woman who claimed to be one of the end-time witnesses.

What has been removed from mankind since the days of Adam and Eve?  Will Laura be giving Ron an apple she got from a snake? Will Ron be recreating Eden by setting up a nudist commune for his members?

Inquiring minds want to know.  But we’ll all have to tune in at 2:30 Eastern Time to find out.

Ron, John, Herbie, & Elijah

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

In his sermon last Saturday, False Prophet Ronald Weinland made the following claim:

I’m telling you today, I am the Elijah-to-come.

Weinland also claims to be an apostle and one of the Two End-time Witnesses (and spokesman for both).  I’ve run across a CoG publication that takes exception to the idea that one of the Witnesses would also be the end-time Elijah.

Faithfully reviewing our history and acknowledging that this history is in perfect and complete harmony with the word of God and end-time prophecies should serve to strengthen brethren and sober us to the reality of how little time we have left to prepare ourselves. Yet this evangelist “of a large organization” waffles back and forth on this subject. He even plants the thought that there are experts who believe one of the two witnesses may fulfill this role of the Elijah to come. How could such a man be so blind, especially after all that he experienced in the Church during Philadelphia? And who are these “experts?” Have these experts written commentary about this subject, and are they supposed to be “Bible scholars,” who are in fact actually outside the Church—without the spirit of God dwelling in them? Do we look to experts outside the Church to help us understand the true word of God and those things that can only be revealed through God’s spirit? What would either of these two witnesses restore in that last 3½ years before Jesus Christ returns? That question alone should show how foolish this evangelist has been in presenting such suggestions!

Elsewhere in the same CoG publication:

All understanding of prophecy regarding the end of this age was not revealed to Mr. Armstrong. Foundational truths were revealed through him and restored to the Church as God fulfilled the role of the “Elijah to come” through him.

and also:

It is not a light thing for anyone in the environs of the Church to deny or be uncommitted in this matter of Mr. Armstrong being the end-time Elijah.

So how did this publication critical of Weinland’s latest titular claim come out so quickly?  Actually, it was published quite awhile ago, back in May of 2003.  The title of the publication is “Time Has Run Out” and was written by someone named Ronald Weinland and is available in PDF format for download on the CoG-PKG Publications page.  The PDF is text searchable, and taking advantage of that with the search term “Elijah” yields the following gems.

To deny that Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong was the Elijah to come before the end-time is either ignorance or willing denial of what is true concerning our history and what God did through him. …… It is not a light thing for anyone in the environs of the Church to deny or be uncommitted in this matter of Mr. Armstrong being the end-time Elijah. [pg 38, 3rd column]

Understand that there is duality involved in the “Elijah to come,” as John the Baptist fulfills the first part of this prophecy concerning a people being prepared for the first-coming of Jesus Christ. [pg 17, 1st column]

But instead of the duality, we now have Ron as part of a trinity consisting of John the Baptist, Ronald the Reviser, and his spiritual idol Herbert Armstrong.  By the way, this material is essentially the same as given in yet another CoG publication, the 2002 Second Quarter issue of News Watch.

Another CoG publication takes exception to Ron’s stance.  The publication is “The Prophesied End Time” written by one Ronald Weinland.  It includes other statements:

That man was Herbert W. Armstrong—the very one who would fulfill the role of the prophetic end-time Elijah. [pg 106]

It will become far more significant later, but Herbert W. Armstrong understood that he fulfilled the prophecies of the end-time Elijah to come, that he was the end-time apostle to the Philadelphian Era, and that his commission was summed up in Matthew 24:14. [pg 108]

Poor Ron.  He’s made up so much stuff that he’s having trouble keeping track of it all, getting tripped up in contradictions every time he opens his mouth.  Laura, you need to give him lots and lots of those looks to shut him up.  But it really doesn’t matter — his followers have already forgotten it but if reminded will swallow whatever lame explanations the failed prophet will offer.

The “Elijah to Come”

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

False Prophet Ronald Weinland has placed a new post on his blog about his new title as the fulfillment of the Elijah-to-come.  I’m repeating it below for your convenience and so it will be available later when he deletes it.  I have emphasized a few of his statements, and added [a few comments of my own] in the text. Also, he does not provide for comments on his blog but I do on mine.

————————  Ronnie’s Nonsense ————————-

The Church of God – PKG has indeed been “Preparing for the Kingdom of God.” Beginning this Sabbath, the Church will take another big step forward in doing that commission given to it in this end-time.

As we covered in a sermon series (”Our Journey of Faith”) about our recent history, I addressed an issue that God had given me which was to acknowledge how He and His Son, Jesus Christ, had made me an apostle as well as a prophet. I had long believed that Herbert W. Armstrong was the last apostle to the Church, but due to the truths that God has revealed over the past several years, it was now time to acknowledge that such truths given are only accomplished through an apostle.

The prophecies given to the Church have been through the office of a prophet, but the doctrines and truths have come through an apostle. And as God inspired Paul to write, we “are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone” (Eph. 2:20). In other words, God works in a very specific manner through His Son, Jesus Christ, who is the head of the Church, to give truth of doctrine and instruction through His apostles and to give prophecy through His prophets. How the Church then responds to truth (by seeking to live by it) and how it responds in faith to prophetic revelation (living according to it) determines the spiritual relationship each member has with God the Father.

The Church that was scattered, due to the apostasy, has fragmented into over 500 different organizations, yet only one has been reestablished as God’s true Church. It became fully reestablished once again on Pentecost of 1998, as the true remnant with whom God was working. This is not a popular thing to declare, yet it is simply the truth. God’s Church cannot be organized into many fragmented groups with differing ideas of government and doctrine. That is not God’s way and this it is fully contrary to the laws of God and how God’s spirit works in His Church.

Mr. Armstrong was a “type” of the Elijah:

Herbert W. Armstrong fulfilled a “type” of the Elijah to come as prophesied in the Old Testament and as prophesied by Jesus Christ.  [Ron demotes Herbie from the Elijah-to-come to only a type.]
