Fiftieth Truth Plus
In ten days it will be the Last Great Day on which Ronald Weinland has promised to unveil his new truth which won’t be a separate truth but an addition to the 50th “Truth”. During June of last year, I unveiled Ron’s 50th untruth the same day he announced there was one but the members would have to wait until the Feast of Trumpets for the revelation, after which he officially announced it 3 months ahead of schedule.
I feel somewhat challenged to repeat my earlier performance. However this time Ron has been unusually close-mouthed and his chief evangelist Johnny hasn’t let slip any clues either.
I’m going to throw out a speculation for the 50th untruth add-on. While those who were members of WCG when the first seal opened on December 17, 1994 and who were also COG-PKG members on the Feast of Trumpets 2008 were sealed, the other members are only promised “the opportunity to live on into a new age” (untruth #45).
My speculation is that those not eligible for the sealing but who are members as of a certain date will have special status as they “live on into the new era”, perhaps evangelists and elders in PKG or civil governors in the millennium. Possible dates for this speculated cut-off date are:
- Feast of Trumpets of 2009 {the 40th sabbath on which Ron was too sick to preach}
- when the 2nd trumpet blows (“nukular” explosions),
- or when the 5th trumpet blows (Germany conquers the US).
I suspect that there are many others who like recently exited member “Xer” are questioning all the failures and contradictions and Weinland needs to do something to keep the hook baited or his church will shrink back to the ex-WCG core who were members in 2007.
But this is only speculation. I’m interested in any other ideas or opinions, which you may share as a comment.

Ah 50th + 1/2 truths…
Con artists can, after a very long con, write themeselves into corners (lies run perpindicular to reality and so one has to not only keep them all in line, a full time job, but also continuesly plan the not to distant future so that you don’t mess up and let the “fish” off the hook). Rons con has been running for a long time and now he contradicts his own prophecies as many times as he does not (and when he does not the prophecy has NOT been prooved, rather it has not happened at all… yet?). The 50th+ truth is simply a continuation of this process.
Rons Con was ment to last some 4+ years leading into 2009 where the number of failed prophcies would sink it. But Ron has had exceptional good luck in having a flock of sheeples that just wont quite, so he is forced to take the Con further than it was designed to go in an attempt to milk it for all it’s worth before it goes under. Ergo now Ron makes up truths, explanations, revelations, etc.. etc… to keep the fish on the line for as long as possible to keep the $$ stream flowing, although reduced as the number of sheeples falls off, but still $$ all the same.
I mean seriously, how is Ron supposed (at this stage of the game) face Mrs. Witlness and tell her the $$ faucet has been turned off? So, continue to lie and tease the newbies enough to keep them sending at least one more check, and hopefully 12 more checks! It’s a con and it therefore is a scripted play, but the Con has outlived it’s plan and so now the script is being written as it is enacted.
But one might also remember that the Con man and woman in this case also, at times, believe thier tripe. Why would they do this when it is against the CON-MAN book of rules? Because they love it, they love being the top of the heap, the teachers, the leaders, the beloved of God (in thier own minds…). It’s a cardinal rule of con’s to never start believing your own con. But the temptation is strong to actually be the high and mighty speaker for God, beloved by the Heavens and leader of all the faithful. So I believe they fall in and out of reality, sometimes beliveing their own con so as to feel good and holy, and at other times the they act like professional con men counting the $$ and angling the fish for more “play” time to keep em on the hook.
Honestly, Ron has to keep a steady eye on his retirement years and the $$ it will take to support it. For when the Con finally falls apart there will be no more “big cons” anymore and the $$ faucet will be shut off.
Ah the life of the con mans finaly big con, but all things must come to an end…
It’s hard to predict Con Ron’s next 1/2 truth. You were pretty amazing to predict the 50th truth. And I suppose since you are still alive and mocking you are pretty amazing as well since Con Ron pronounced your demize a while back. ConRon is doomed just like the other “so called” prophets (profits), but we just don’t know WHEN he will go down. Unfortunately there are many people who will have lost a lot of money and time in the process.
It seems that Ron can only back things up a little while. Maybe a year. Ron is less than a year (338) days from the half-way point in his ministry. Imagine if nothing has materialized by then!
Ron has got to feel the pressure ratcheting up with each passing week. (Heh-heh-heh) We’ll know soon. He’s painted himself into a corner and he’s running out of room! There are going to be some angry people when they realize they have been conned. They will look back and weonder how they could have missed the ‘signs’.

I would agree mike. Some goodies for the mid-rankers, just enough of them so there are enough people that have an interest in not being too fussed about the postponements. Afterall, the very definite prediction from 2008 – GFW of the fall of the US is now on its last legs, so either elements have to become spiritual (the USA probably spiritually fell in some way or another) or the whole show has to be pushed back. So, goodies for the midrankers, to distract them from the fact that everything is being pushed back AGAIN.
If this were my conundrum, I would try a more radical approach. I would say there has been backsliding, even among the Sealed. I would pick a respected long-term member, someone they would never expect me to mess with, and kick him out on a pretext. As I did it, I would make sure I rub it in – go into a shouting, raving, cursing rant about the terrible things that are coming and that he will not survive. How his betrayal of God will not be without a price. I would do this to keep the rest of the old hands on their toes – remind them they too can be disfellowhipped – and to frighten the rest out of asking questions. I would say that Jezus only wielded the whip once – to drive people OUT of the church! I would say that while the church is welcoming, it is a PRIVILIGE to be a member. The church, and GOD, do not owe you anything – you owe Gods church! We are forging a force of Gods own Stormtroopers here! The Elect! The half-hearted and the Lukewarm need not apply. This is NOT a social club – this is the Church of God, which has already been established as being of cosmic significance
I would then cheerfully ask for more commitment, more sacrifice, even more money. I would say that we will be mocked more, will get more pressure from the faithless, but do not forget – no-one said it woul dbe easy. Did you expect heaven to come cheap? Were you hoping to pay less than all your soul, all your heart, and all your sweat? Forget it! Only the worthy will make it through the end-times. And the backsliders – you know who you are, and so does God – best remember that the only reason you are still here is because God still feels you have a chance, a part to play in his great plan. Maybe your part will only be to test the Elect – as he tests them incessantly, like a smith will test his metal, until they are perfect. I would say that some of the people right here before me will end up in the Lake of Fire.
Then, bring out the goodies – give some medium-term members some afterlife-goodies. Bring out a revised timing – keeping it MUCH vaguer this time – and connect it to these new goodies somehow. Give the fresh meat the feeling that there is room at the top, so they will feel less inclined to walk, while at the same time make it that to doubt the new timing, they put their new-found status in jeopardy.
Carrot and stick. Fear and reward. You reward compliance, you punish questions. After a show like that, anyone thinking of uttering doubt about the new timing will be scared of mentioning it. Pick one member, turn him or her into an example, and guess what? You can ask for even more afterwards.
It’s hard for me as well to predict what the new truth might be, but it makes a lot of sense to think that it will be along the lines of Mike (DDTFA)’s speculation.
That is, it makes sense to me that it will be some kind of promise of special benefit, like civil governors in the millenium.
That way, Ron can hold it over their heads, and say things like “if anybody shrinks back, or gives up on the work, or DOESN’T TITHE, they will miss out on this wonderful promise.”
I tend to think that it won’t be just some “truth”, without some kind of promise of benefit.
I also agree totally with Dill Weed, that “It seems that Ron can only back things up a little while. Maybe a year.”
I would think that a good while before Pentecost of 2012, a point in time will come that some of the members will begin to THINK, and say to themselves, “There’s NO WAY that Germany is going to attack the USA, take us into captivity, and with the Pope’s backing, a World System set up where no one can buy or sell, except the one’s who have the mark”.
Nope, they will realize (hopefully) there just isn’t time for all that to happen.
One more thing. Pardon my emotion, but how in the he** does Ron know who’s been “sealed” and who hasn’t.
What presumptive arrogance!!
A few items to clarify. First, if you read the last page of “2008-GFW” it clearly states that the downfall of the US was to have occurred by June. When the Insane Liar came out with his 50th “truth”, he said that _nothing_ in the book had changed because of the timeline change. Then a few months later, he said that the 50th “truth” had changed the timing of everything.
And Ron promises that PKG members who are not “sealed” will live on in physical bodies into the Millennium.
But I wouldn’t be surprised to see Ron kick out one of the “sealed” just to keep the rest of them on their toes.

I don’t mean to appear as if I am just repeating what someone else has already said.
Matt: I had the shivers reading through your post – it was like Ron himself was speaking. Brought back memories alright (*shakes momentarily with re-lived fear*).
I believe it’s only a matter of time where he states that a major prophetic event that should have happened (but has not) indeed HAS happened, but spiritually.
But then again, he did block himself off in a corner by stating that these things would happen LITERALLY. Either way, I’ll have the popcorn ready. When I drive home on Sunday the 11th, this site will be the first thing I look up. Though I’ll probably be so curious that I’ll find a way to check it out on the 10th.
I just want this to be DONE. The cynic in me knows this won’t even end in June 2012. Something will come along to prolong it.
I’m seeing some creepy parallels between PKG and Scientology.
It’s strictly pay to play (or should I say pay to pray). There are different levels of salvation (sealed/not sealed) and whatever mumbo-jumbo Scientology calls it, all of which can be attained or lost by giving or not giving more money.
My money’s on it being the “Bride of Christ wasn’t ready” excuse. Shades of Feast of Tabernacles 1972, anyone? Particularly compare the letters from May 22, 1953, November 20, 1958, and September 3, 1970.
May 22, 1953:
“It could begin sooner. This date is hypothetical, not
definite. But apparently it cannot begin LATER than that date.
One chronology sets this disaster TEN YEARS from now! But March-
April, 1972 is the LATEST POSSIBLE DATE.”
November 20, 1958:
“Does that take your breath? IT DID MINE! No use figuring
any farther–for if our calculations are right, 1972 will probably
be the last year of this great work–we will then have to be taken
to a place of safety by God’s divine power, or suffer the Great
Tribulation. This is figuring into the future as far as it is in
the past.”
September 3, 1970 [note the waffling starts to begin]:
“Now about that date — first week in 1972. Many Brethren
have somehow gained the FALSE idea that we have said our Work will
definitely be finished then, and we will at that time be taken to
the place of safety and protection. WE HAVE NEVER SET THAT OR ANY
OTHER DATE, except as a POSSIBLE one. There is NO PROPHECY
pointing definitely to that date. There have been a number of
INDICATIONS of it as a POSSIBLE date, and the first one we consider
at all likely. Right now it looks to me as about a 50-50 chance,
and at least 50-50 our Work may go on another 5 or 10 years. Some
Brethren have gained the idea Mr. Meredith said DEFINITELY it would
go on 5 or 10 more years. Mr. Meredith told me he merely tried to
correct the idea of a January 1972 date as a CERTAINTY. IT IS NOT
A CERTAINTY! No date is, but the January 1972 date is, in my
judgment, STILL A POSSIBILITY.”
September 28, 1970:
“I certainly cannot set dates for the much talked of “end of
the world” — which means end of the present age, and beginning of
the peaceful World Tomorrow. But I have said there are some
indications of the possibility of the final world crisis beginning
early in January, 1972 — just a year and three months from now.”
April 5, 1971 [the waffling starts to get earnest]:
“Brethren, GOD is doing GREAT THINGS for His Work. He is
showing us in many ways that TIME IS SHORT. It does not now look
likely that our part in His Work will be finished early in 1972 –
yet it COULD! Jesus said His coming will be at such an hour as we
least expect. And this Work will be cut off at least 3 1/2 years
before that!”
April 12, 1971 [Note carefully the date mentioned in the quote]:
“I am here this time to make final arrangements for the arrival
in June of 75 of our Ambassador College students. They are coming
to work for the summer on our huge archaeological project in
Jerusalem.”
December 27, 1971 [Note that this date is fast-approaching "the end of the age"]:
“Dear Brethren in God’s Church:
AT LAST! And this time IT’S OFFICIAL!
The ground breaking ceremony for construction of the
superb HOUSE FOR GOD at His present earthly Headquarters, here
on the Pasadena campus, is set definitely for Friday, January
14th next, 1972! That will be the second day of the annual
Ministers’ Conference!”
December 29, 1971 [note the letter does not WHY the work is facing financial crisis---likely because of the members who had left or been disfellowshipped, over the failure of the 1975 in Prophecy timeline]:
“I ask you to PRAY, earnestly, for this financial situation,
that the Work may not have to suffer. We NEED, urgently, to get
back to a 30% increase in the income for the Work during 1972.
Will you PRAY to that end, and be as generous as you are able,
besides? Please do take it seriously.”
January 12, 1972 [the beginning of "the beginning of the great tribulation" as per earlier letters---note the hand-waving and distraction; the Reader's Digest ad was one of the excuses used for the failure of the prophecy]:
“Friday, January 7, at about 11:30 a.m., word came from
Reader’s Digest that they had OPENED THEIR ADVERTISING COLUMNS
IN THEIR GIANT MASS-CIRCULATION UNITED STATES EDITION — 17,750,000
copies — a readership of 55-65 MILLION people — to us. And not
merely to Ambassador College for non-religious messages, but also
to Worldwide Church of God. And, while we will not use a straight
religious message at first — but will advertise The PLAIN TRUTH
– there seems to be the probability that, later on, they will
accept “Message ads” and also advertising for subscribers to
TOMORROW’S WORLD.
On that same day, later in the afternoon, came the signed,
sealed and delivered documents for the financing of the superfine
AUDITORIUM — to us, GOD’S HOUSE here at His present world Headquarters

April 25, 1972 [GTA's disfellowshipment and marking---another useful distraction from the failed prophecy]:
“Last autumn I was dismayed to learn that my son had
been so overcome with personal, emotional problems, that it led to
conduct inconsistent with the high standard of the Work of the
Church of God and the scriptural qualifications for a minister of
Jesus Christ, and rendered him incapable of carrying on the duties
of a minister, and of his responsibilities of Executive Vice
President.”
May 31, 1972 [the temporary return of the prodigal]:
“I knew then
that with God’s help, and countless hours of submissive, prevailing
prayer on his part, coupled with the prayers of thousands for him,
his problems have now been overcome. There is no question in our
minds that God is calling him back now, with plans for the greatest
lunge forward this Work of God has ever taken. He is like a NEW
Garner Ted Armstrong, and we believe God will now use him with far
greater power in getting out Christ’s Gospel to the world than ever
before.”
June 19, 1972 [see if anything sounds familiar --- note also the beginning of the telecast, when the church was supposed to have been in the midst of the beginning of the Great Trib]:
“This Work has recently undergone some scurrilous attacks
reaching around the world. I have reminded you, however, that GOD
IS STILL ON HIS THRONE — and He most certainly is demonstrating it
now! But when this Work was getting started, 38 1/2 years ago, it
was opposed and persecuted and attacked even more, by comparison of
its size, than now! Organized efforts were made to prevent it from
starting, and in its first two or three years to stop it and
destroy it. It IS the Work of GOD, so would you expect an angry
devil to refrain from opposing it? And, being the Work of GOD, it
has GROWN like the grain of mustard seed, despite all opposition –
and will continue to do so.
I say again, every little setback is like the cocking of
the gun — it just shoots the Work on forward faster than ever!”

November 2, 1972 [this is one of the longer ones, but the excerpted quote sums up the same point, hammered home repeatedly, throughout, particularly note the "cause" of the 30% downturn in tithes in the 2nd quote, and the "worldwide day of fasting and humiliation" in the 3rd quote]:

AS A CHURCH HAVE BEEN LETTING DOWN — letting down in PRAYER!
Letting down in Bible study. Letting down in ZEAL for GOD’S WORK

December 28, 1972 [Remember, "March-April 1972 is the LATEST POSSIBLE DATE]:

in the very Work of the Living God:
The most hectic, traumatic year in the 39-year history of
this most important Work on earth in our time, has come and gone.
And WHAT A YEAR it was! There is a living devil, named
Satan. He HATES this Work. He is the most subtle, crafty, and
powerful being on earth — the prince of the power of the air, the
god of this world. This year he pulled out all stops in a fiendish
effort to DESTROY this very Work of GOD.”

Note: I was looking for the “The Bride of Christ wasn’t ready!” brethren and coworkers letter, but apparently that was only a verbal dressing-down delivered at the Feast of Tabernacles, 1972, referred to in the subsequent co-worker letters as the “TURNING POINT”. My money’s on Rotten Ron to try pulling a similar scare tactic on LGD 2009.
37 years later, the grift smells just as rotten as it did back then — for those with the eyes to see and the ears to hear.
March 25, 1975 [the whitewashing of '75 in Prophecy becomes complete]:
“Some years ago I saw factors indicating the possibility
that our work might be completed by early 1972, and immediately
followed by the Great Tribulation. I NEVER SET A DEFINITE DATE.
I NEVER SAID IT WOULD DEFINITELY HAPPEN — but cautioned there
were indications of the possibility. Yet some misunderstood and
took it as a definite prophecy for a definite date.”
Also read the rest of the letters for 1975 — the year the Kingdom of God was to have been established in all the Earth.

I have to go with Aggie on this one, it makes sense that he’d say the Bride of Christ wasn’t ready because he likes to blame other people for his mistakes. He’s already blamed his own people for expecting a physical fulfillment of his prophecies, and God for giving him the wrong dates; instead of rising up and holding him accountable for failed prophecies and leaving – they stayed. He’s probably counting on them taking the blame next time, too. They’re letting him make any changes he wants to, and deny anything he wants to; he learned that from his mentor, HWA.
When I read HWA’s backpedalling statements, “I NEVER SET A DEFINITE DATE. I NEVER SAID IT WOULD DEFINITELY HAPPEN”; all I could think was that it sounds like another famous denial “I DID NOT HAVE SEXUAL RELATIONS WITH THAT WOMAN…” When you’re backed into a corner, Deny, Deny, Deny.

What? My book stated that the thunders and Trumpets would be real and happen exactyly as written? Oh, and they would happen exactly as the book noted in timing?. Uh… I really think you did not understand the book my friend. What I ment when I wrote that the Trumpets would be ‘extactly as written’ was exactly spiritual. Don’t you see breathren, God is spiritual and ergo so are his Trumpets and even the Thunders”.
Oh my, now the other splinter WCOG ministers are now “spiritually dead”, and President Obama is not actually president of the USA becasue God as “spiritually” taken back his blessings and ergo the USA has fallen and there is no president. The Plants are acutally green and green is symbolic of US paper money and ergo the spiritual loss of 1/3 of the grass’s is also “spiritually” complete as well.
Spiritual Nuclear Weapons will fall upon many port cities and destoy “spiritually” 1/3 of the ships.
There is no end to this Con, but how much Con can a man swallow before he explodes?
Aggie’s postings reminded me that Ronald’s COG-PKG is built upon the foundation of shifting sands laid by Herbert Armstrong – Herbie said that WCG was “the true church” hence Ronald’s group is the “remnant of the true church” – Herbert laid down the first 18 or so “revealed truths” which defined the “true church” and Ronald has expanded upon them as the further revealed truths which “define the true church – PKG”.
We could probably take each truth, dissect it – and find it lacking – Not so for the members of PKG , who have been mentally conditioned to cling to those truths and prove them to their own minds over & over again. Their firm belief in those truths is what, in their minds, sets them apart as part of “the true church” So now they are waiting with high expectations to the addition to the 50th truth.
I think it is going to have something to do with the timing of prophecied events – probably postponing them again – It may combine some theme of Time, Times & Half to make it seem like it is based upon scripture – Ronald’s letter of “Peace, peace” mentioned the two day fast by members which supposedly “shortened” the time of suffering – Perhaps there will be another fast to demonstrate “more resolve” of the members – and possibly combined with more generosity in their holy day offerings. They will have some excess 2nd tithe to dispose of, since it is only a 1/2 F of Tabs.
As Dill so often says, Time will tell.
Dill also says, “Don’t eat potato salad’s been sitting in the sun for a while.”

What if Ron’s curse has worked on us, and we are in fact, spiritually dead due to his curse?

Whisper, you’re not far off the mark. Ron has an established history of spiritualizing things. As quoted in this post on Weinland Watch from his sermon on March 22, 2008 just a few days after the 7th Seal opened the first time on March 18, Ron said:
But he did say something was going to happen that day. On page 23 of 2008: God’s Final Witness, Ronald Weinland said “…and the world will be shocked and in horror on the day that the seventh seal is opened.”
Ron can swallow a whole lot of Con, and so can his members.
Kirrily, if I’m now spiritually dead as the result of Ron’s curse, then there’s an extremely fine line between being spiritually alive and spiritually dead. I can’t tell any difference in myself.
That’s okay Mike, because Ron can’t tell the difference either; he seems to float between reality and wherever it is that he goes to in his mind. Ron reminds me so much of the Emperor in his “invisible” new clothes; his congregation, like the crowd who watched the Emperor walk around naked, pretends they can see what Ron is talking about.

That’s it in a nutshell really isn’t it. He makes out like he has direct contact with God, for some stupid reason people believe him (including myself for a time) – then you CAN’T question ANYTHING because he has all the answers.
Wow – it really is a con.
The bride of christ is a good one – effective, works on guilt, it has endless waffle-opportunities. Also a much more low-risk strategy, and obviously one that he has seen work over and over again.

Aggie, I think your scenario of “blame it on the followers” is quite likely. That is … eventually — I don’t think it will happen this year and probably not next year.
Unless he’s arrested by the IRS. In which case he’ll call a 3-day fast and if convicted will blame it on the members because they didn’t humble themselves hard enough.
You honestly think Rotten wRong will push for a 3rd timeline? Who does he think he’s kidding? Who IS he kidding, anyway? (I don’t trust the numbers from the pulpit; they’ve always been over-inflated, for the sake of forcing false prophecy to fit.) I honestly can’t see him stretching it out any longer. Retirement age is looming, and there’s always Club Fed on the horizon (potentially), as well. Weinland needs a big, big distraction, to get away from his “Two false prophecies, but THIRD TIME’S THE CHARM folks!” hand-waving, and the typical Armstrongism model of blaming the lowly church members and directing their recriminations inward, will stand him in good stead.
Mark my words, the LGD sermon’s gonna be a barn-burner this year; for all 75 remaining members of the CoG-PKG……..
Aggie, you have to remember that the PKG cult members don’t think rationally as do you. I refer you to this example on another blog of the reaction of believers when prophecy fails. Other contacts I’ve had suggest that Ron’s numbers are not inflated — I think he has a few more members than 75.
I don’t expect a 3rd timeline on the LGD, just some more smoke and mirrors to keep this one alive.
